My birthday is this Sunday - June 3rd!
Any ideas for a tasty but healthy/low-cal birthday treat?
Any one else with the same birthday as me?

My favorite ice cream alternative is frozen banana. If you put it in a food processor, it comes out just like ice cream! Not sure if you're trying to make something for yourself, though, or plan for a party.0

Lots and lots of fruits and berries.
A desert I had the other day was some greek yogurt, mixed berries, granola, and honey on top. Not necessarily low cal but healthy and delish!
Chocolate dipped strawberries are good.
Also, I have been into getting yogurt lately. Feels like such an indulgance but really isn't too bad. Check out TCBY, some of their small scopped yogurt is only like 100 cals a pop!0 -
I made a 3-layer raw cheesecake earlier this week and it was a big hit.
First layer:
I took 1 handful pecans, half a handful of walnuts, three dates, 1/2 cup shredded coconut, 1 tbsp. cocoa powder. Blended that in the food processor until even consistency. Then added in 1 tbsp. agave and blended until it was like a paste. Press that down in the bottom of a cake or pie pan and stick in the fridge.
Second Layer:
In the mean time take two cups of berries and pitted cherries (in any ratio you like- I did 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 and 1/2 cherries). Pour berries in the food processor with 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 2 tbsp. agave syrup and 1 tsp. vanilla. I also threw in a spoonful of cashew butter, but macadamia butter or melted coconut oil (about 6 tbsp.) would also work. Blend until smooth, and pour on the crust layer. Stick back in the fridge for at least 15 minutes until the fruit layer becomes gelatinous. You could skip the cashew butter or coconut oil all together and cut down on calories, but the fruit layer wouldn't firm up as nice so it wouldn't look as pretty. with the distinct layers.
Third layer:
Use either instant vanilla pudding, greek yogurt, vanilla yogurt, or whatever else you like. I used an instant pudding mix and it worked out to 300 calories a slice (8 servings total- they were generous size slices too). The calorie count is a little high, but it's all good calories- mostly nuts and berries, so you don't have to feel guilty. Have a happy birthday!0 -
Happy Birthday!! Mine is the very next day - June babies are the best.
I'm facing the same dilemma... kinda sorta. I think instead of compromising on a yummy dessert I'll just go for an extra jog. We can compromise the rest of the year. :drinker:0 -
On my birthday (June 5) I'm planning on getting some real icecream. It comes in these little servings and has like 200 something calories in it. I haven't had it in a long time... I'm honestly considering not counting calories on my birthday. I rarely have a cheat day or whatever, still haven't decided0

Strawberry Pie!
my birthday is coming up soon too and I've requested this from my bf: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/strawberry-pie-ii/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=strawberry pie&e8=Quick Search&event10=1&e7=Home Page
I made it last summer and it is heavenly.. and super easy! I put it in a pre-made graham cracker crust. Go light on the whipped cream, and it's not too hard on the diet. Happy birthday!0 -
Thanks everyone Awesome idea, and Happy birthday to everyone else celebrating in June!0

It's your birthday! I'd just have the ice cream and cake.
Last year on my birthday I was determined to stick to the plan. I went running in a storm that day and burned ~600 calories. I did not have any cake or even ice cream. Turned out, it made no difference. Didn't lose any, just stayed the same. This year, I'm gonna have a real birthday.0 -
Have everyone at the birthday party go out for some frozen yogurt, its low fat (some is fat free) and its a treat, that'd be fun :}0
