Weight gain during TOM; how does it affect you?

I was just curious how weight gain affects anyone else during their TOM? I started out this week on monday at 202.8 I believe and during most of this week I have been anywhere from 203.4 to 206 when I weigh in the mornings. I was surprised that I didn't have any big weight gains with water weight on monday or most of this week but wondering if any of you have had any kind of crazy weight fluctuations and how long does it usually take for the body to go back to its weight loss stages? I had been steadily losing weight weekly this month and now I am worried that come monday for my official weigh in day I will see nothing or a gain :-(

Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestions and help

I was actually shocked that mine didn't go up, but I had Implanon for birth control (just had it removed) and my TOM is usually really short and light, so that may have played a role. I guess I'll know when I get my next TOM off of birth control. I have read it can increase your weight for up to two weeks though.

I have an extreme tendency to retain water! My weigh can fluctuate we much as 5 to 10 lbs due to TOM, sodium, or heavy weights. Ditch the scale and have your body fat tested or take measurements. Or, definitely only weigh yourself a few days after TOM.

Margo...I don't know when my TOM would have been (hysterectomy many years ago), however, I do retain water on occasion so I am assuming that is when TOM would have been.
First of all, don't weigh yourself everyday. If you must, then you have to realize that there are multiple factors that can make the number go up and down (water retention, dehydration, carbohydrate intake etc.). There is a post somewhere within the message boards that refers to water weight gain.
As for Monday...if you still have your TOM...what is wrong with changing your weigh in day to after you finish, then revert back to your normal Monday? If you want to stay with Monday...ask yourself how do your clothes feel? If they feel the same or more loose...don't worry about it!

I notice that I'm so irritated when I'm on my period that I hardly drink water. (I also think [sorry for TMI] that I don't drink water b/c I don't want to use the bathroom cause I *HATE* seeing umm, stuff...) so that causes me to be bloated. Hmm.. Mine is coming up so I'm going to experiment and drink TONS of water!
