Something I experienced myself when I was eating 1200 a day was gallbladder attacks. Despite eating very healthy the attacks were increasing in intensity. Within a week of raising my calories the attacks stopped.

Weight. A large clinical study showed that being even moderately overweight increases the risk for developing gallstones. The most likely reason is that the amount of bile salts in bile is reduced, resulting in more cholesterol. Increased cholesterol reduces gallbladder emptying. Obesity is a major risk factor for gallstones, especially in women.
Diet. Diets high in fat and cholesterol and low in fiber increase the risk of gallstones due to increased cholesterol in the bile and reduced gallbladder emptying.
Rapid weight loss. As the body metabolizes fat during prolonged fasting and rapid weight loss—such as “crash diets”—the liver secretes extra cholesterol into bile, which can cause gallstones. In addition, the gallbladder does not empty properly.

That happened a few months ago before I switched to the EMTWL thinking.
I thought it would be a good idea to let people know that there is more things to consider than just maximising your weight loss.0 -

I went on my first VLCD when i was 15. of course my weight loss lasted but 2 years and i gained everything back and more. When I was 19, I went to the ER after 2 days of intense stomach pain and I had my gallbladder removed. So yes, VLCD are not good for your health. I had a MILLLLLLLLLLION other problems during those 2 years but almost all disappeared after eating more. Now I am where I am hoping to get a fresh start, reset my metabolism, and go about losing in a healthy way, even if that means gaining some weight in the meanwhile.0
