So it is June of 2012 and summer is on it's way. For this month, how about about some fun with our discussion: Since June rhymes with "tune", why don't we each pick a song that reminds us of summer and ties in with our fitness journey. Be sure to tell us the title and artist, so we can all sing along, and why this ties in with your fitness journey.

I'll start: My song is Dancin' in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas. It's an upbeat tune that gets me moving! And for many years in the summer I was the fat one in the lawn chair hiding from everyone and all the activities summer brings, so this year I want to be Dancin' in the Street and enjoying everyday!

    Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest. Years ago my husband and I used to go out and dance every weekend. We need to do that again to get back into shape. I need a supernatural delight. LOL

    "Hot Fun in the Summertime" - Sly and the Family Stoney. Why, because we are having FUN seeing the pounds drop, and it is HOT because it is summertime. So we are having fun in the hot weather getting healthy.

    The one that comes to mind right away is an "Oldie" for sure (it was an oldie when I was a teen). Under the Boardwalk by the Drifters. It reminds me of summer time at the beach. This summer I definitely plan to be "on a blanket with my baby" :)

    Great Idea! Well one that comes to mind is Saturday In The Park by Chicago! The reason is because it was actually a huge hit in 1972 and my husband and I were dating then. Good memories! It ties to my new life and fitness because of my husband and I now riding our bikes through the Park on Saurdays! Ha! I think it was the 4th of July... Can you dig it????
