Hey guys, I just have a questions and don't know if any of you have any ideas of whats going on, but any feedback or advice would be much appreciated!
I have been doing the "keto" diet for about a month and a half now. I would say my diet is more low-carb than keto though, as I'm not eating an overly large amount of fatty foods. If you need clarification check out my food diaries, please.
On Tuesday evening I got one of my usual migraines, it was terrible, as they usually are. Although usually by the next day all I have left is a lingering light sensitivity and headaches if I stand to quickly, or do sudden movements. Not this time. This time I cannot seem to shake this constant headache and feeling of fogginess. It's almost out of body. I'm having a very difficult time focusing and still am light sensitive, almost a week later. This is becoming hard to live with. I don't know if it's sugar withdrawal, a late set keto-flu or what, but I'm so done! Being in school full time makes it near impossible when you can hardly focus or concentrate. Any advice or suggestions on things I could try would be fantastic.

Thanks all!

I'd probably go to a medical professional at this point, for diagnosis.

It's not likely to be sugar withdrawals after 6 weeks of low-carb. If you're not eating a lot of fatty foods (for whatever reason, I dunno) you may not be in ketosis, so it wouldn't be keto flu.

If I were you, I'd have some chicken or beef broth, get a lot of salt, potassium and magnesium in you. Maybe some heavy cream to fill you up, too? :) Keto makes being a student easy, because you can get real used to only eating twice a day, morning and night.

I noticed a few days ago you mentioned about your back killing you from your job. Im wondering if the headaches and back pains are related. Im a firm believer in chiropractors and I know if my back is out of wack I just constant headaches. Just a suggestion.

Also I second the sodium suggestion. I drink a little bit of powerade a day (the broth is nasty). I used to get really confused and lightheaded but not after I started drinking some powerade.

The first week I started Keto I was fine (I was low carbing before 40-60g) So I thought I skip the flu all together... around the 1.5 - 2 week mark I started showing signs of the flu not exactly sure why my body decided it was time but it really sucked! I spent about 4-5 days having dizzy spells, the works. I even lost my balance a couple of times during this period :( It really scared the crap out of me!

All is fine now tho, I have noticed however that if I go as low as 1-10g a day of carbs I get really dizzy/see black spots. Thats when I usually know my carb intake is way to low for me and I eat something. Takes about 15-30 mins for me to normalize but then im fine. I would also like to add that my exp is not normal and I believe there are other underlining health issues that Im getting checked out.

I never exp consistant headaches over a long duration I would consider going to a medical doctor if you continue to exp these problems :(!

    Best of luck :)!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I'm definitely going to try the broth, powerade, or something with some more sodium/potassium. I've got a doctors appointment in two weeks and I'm going to try and get an MRI to ensure it's not something to serious. Also, my back was just cause I had been standing for to long in one spot, and I'm almost positive that's not related to my head. But that's a great suggestion as well!
    Thanks again guys! :)
