Alright everyone we have been into the GRFS Challenge for 8 weeks now. It is time to look back and reflect on how you are doing with your original goals. So far we have done an excellent job as a group but one of the main purposes of this group is to help each of you reach your individual goals as well. The challenge for this week will be one that is familiar to many of you, but is still very important. It has been 8 weeks since we began and I have a feeling that many of us are in a workout rut so to speak. As the weather continues to get warmer and clothes get lighter our drive should only be stronger. This week the challenge will be to change things up again! Similar to the challenge we did during the Biggest Loser Challenge this week find an exercise you haven't done in a long time or have always wanted to do but never done and try it! As before, if you are normally walking every day, try running etc. The only rule is that whatever the new exercise is it must push you harder than what you were doing before! Dig deep and push yourselves! There are few things that feel as good as it does when you reach your goals, so let's help each other hit our individual goals together!!! Please leave comments below to indicate what you were doing before and what your plan is for this week. Also be sure to update as you go to motivate everyone else! Let's make this week great!!!

Alright, I will go first on this one. This week I was able to hit my weight loss goal so I am going to start working on my next goal. I have signed up for a triathlon in September so this is the week the real training will begin. Before today I have relied upon a ton of circuit training and walking with a little running and biking mixed in. Starting this week I will heavily focus on running, biking and swimming so that I can get ready for this triathlon! It should be interesting as I live about 6500 feet above sea level so the altitude has always been an issue for me when training outside. No more excuses, this is the week to push myself!0

Perfect timing for me Michael! My gym membership ended in May, since they do not have a child care center and school is done next week. So I was planning to start jogging on the beach.....I have always wanted to do this....but never felt secure enough to do it. I am hoping the weather cooperates with me. I will let you know how it goes.0

I am going to stick with running, but I am going to push a little harder. I have been running on average about 23.1 miles per week. I am planning on running 25 miles and putting in some walking at the end of my run. I have a 4 mile run coming up in 2 weeks, so I really cannot change what I am working towards at the moment. I fear that if I stop running then I won't be able to run all 4 miles on June 16th. I am also going to work a little harder anyway to lose whatever pounds I might or might not have gained over vacation. I am hoping that I just maintained my weight since I tried to run every morning and we did a lot of walking around St. Louis.0

I am going to push my walk/run intervals harder this week. I usually do the elliptical or arc machine for my cardio. While it is easier on my joints, I want to meet my running goals, and I do feel like running is a great stress buster too. I am going to try to find some place to try a new exercise class of some sort too. I love trying new things. Today I climbed a tower at Michigan State University. I noticed that I climbed it easily and was one of the only people who was not out of breath when we all reached the top. That's a nice NSV! My daughter graduated high school last night. With that stress behind me now I can focus a little more on me again.0

I did my run/walk intervals today! I did the C25K week four day one. I am NOT a good runner.... at this time. I was able to complete the 30 minutes but I was embarrassed that my face was so sweaty and as purple as the walls behind me at the gym (my lovely daughter pointed that out) At least I met my Sunday goal and have been moving, moving and some more moving since 4am. I also found a couple of new classes that I may be interested in trying this week.0

:drinker: OK.....I did it!!!! I took my first OUTDOOR jog ever!!!! it felt GREAT!!!! Although I did NOT JOG the whole time...I did a 3 min power walk warm up then 5 min jogging/3 min walking intervals for 30 min and a 10 min cool down walk. My whole body felt like it was on fire when I stopped!!! I have a question for you runners/joggers.....how do you stay hydrated? I left the water in my car....but halfway through the jog I was thirsty!!!! But I can not lug the water bottle with me (I do not see any other joggers carrying water).....what is the secret!!!!!!! Anyway, I feel GREAT and hope to do it again tomorrow!!!! WAIT.....I mean....I WILL BE DOING IT AGAIN TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinker:0

I did my jog/walk intervals tonight. Gee... I am not a very attractive runner!!! Today I was reading a book to a group of young children. One page said "The items on this page are purple. Can you think of anything purple?". My son answered "My mom's face when she runs!". :laugh:0

I like that! When I jog and am really exhausted I keep thinking the word "dedication" over and over again. Thanks for sharing!0
