If you see something awry, please let me know!!! It's early, I'm not at my best in the mornings hmm or late evenings, well anyway, that's my excuse!

To recap:

:flowerforyou: Strive for five ( consume a total of 5 fruit or veggie servings per day, in any combo) lots of fresh produce out there now!

:drinker: 8 - 8 oz. glasses of water per day

 30 minute workouts 4 times per week

:glasses: weigh in weekly, set your own personal goal for start and end weight

 Share on this forum at least one Twilight related thought/idea that came to mind during the week....I know that can't be too difficult, after all we eat, breathe, and drink Twilight here, dont we?

Happy June ladies!

Can all five of my strive for five be strawberries? I had some for lunch and I am having me some pie tonight. It is only once a year, I must indulge.

Any combo will do! I don't think those strawberry donuts will count though!

    WEEK ONE STATUS.

The end of the first week of our June challenge is almost here. I have family 'stuff' this weekend, so I wanted to come give a report out. I hope everyone is doing well. For me personally it was good to get back in the swing of things again.

First, Twilight related, I was out and about over the weekend and saw a person out running. As I got closer, I had to do a double take, as he was built just like Jacob Black... He was wearing the longer shorts, , nice muscular physique, tank top with the big open arm holes, sporting a dark tan, with short spiky black hair. okay, so I know, it wasn't Jake, but a girl can dream cant she?

    Some changes i've made recently....
I have been playing with a couple of pounds for a while now (for almost as long as Edward has been 17). I reset my ticker to my true weight as I thought it would help me mentally to see the number inch back down, instead of feeling like I was trying to climb out of a hole. I want to tell you that it has made a huge difference, I am glad I owned up and did it.

A week ago, I ate myself into sugar coma. I cannot recall ever doing this to myself, and it is beyond me why I did it. Please don't be alarmed by what I am about to say, even I consider it sacrilege.~~ Anyway, I decided to CUT~~~OUT~~~SWEETS~~~from my diet and see how I would do. I felt so crappy the weekend after the sugar binge, that I had no desire to eat anything sweet, so it honestly worked to my advantage. So far I have done extremely well for someone that has always had sweets in her life. Monday morning was difficult, as I drove past 'Sweeties' on the way to work, where I stop for a donut or a latte. I just kept going....didn't look back, but let me tell you, the auto pilot wanted to turn the car into their drive thru. I am allowing myself things like sugar free pudding, kettle corn flavor seasoning on my popcorn, but when it comes to cookies, candy, pastry, ice cream, and the like, I am still just saying NO! This afternoon, My coworker was walking down to the snack area, he wanted a Payday, I told him I would come for the walk, and when I got there, I had no desire to buy or eat any of it. I was fine, and I still can't believe it!

As for our challenge items, I've been focused on getting my 'strive for five', and while it has always been really hard for me, I am making pretty decent headway towards drinking my 8 glasses of water daily. I have started using my weights instead of just walking, and this week the numbers on the scale are inching downward.

I am looking forward to reading about everyone's accomplishments and challenges and your Twilighty thoughts!

no sweets?! more power to you! and congrats on your iron willpower - keep it up! maybe it's a newly developed vamp-power!

your story of jacob black - i met him off the coast of venice! i kid you not - he was a ferry man when we went a couple of summers ago, and we were there with a slew of high school girls (we tour students - that's how we can afford to go). the girls weren't technically in our group, but when i gasped and said, "omigosh! jacob black! twelve o'clock!" they all turned to look, and hot damn if he didn't fit the bill! the biggest difference was his hair style, but, whatever, close enough. we mobbed him. i don't think he ever understood why we all wanted pictures with him. i actually printed a picture of jacob and put it in our album beside the imposter jacob - i'll post them and let you see what you think!

What an awesome story Stacy! Poor guy, never knew what hit him! Lol

For my sweets, today I went to chick fil a and got a kids meal of grilled nuggets, the server tells me that in lieu of the kids toy, I can have ice cream, well, heck, I had the ice cream. It was a nice small cup, and it was tasty and when I was done, I was done. So I guess I am not totally cutting them out, but certainly cutting way back!

Yvonne, no sweets??!! :noway: Girl, will you have enough umph to fight those zombies? Loved your Jacob Black story as well as Stacy's!

Twilight related, ummmm...... that is hard for me since I eat, sleep, and breathe Twilight. So picking one thing is hard. Recently, I have been going through the songs of the sound tracks and kind of doing a close reading of the lyrics of each song. I'm loving actually getting into the songs. This week was "Never Think," so I have been hearing Rob's voice as the background to my week.

Fitness related. I finally dropped some weight after staying the same for 2 months.:drinker: I don't really call it a plateau since I changed my settings to half a pound a week, and plan to lose super slowly as I approach maintainence. I didn't quite finish my May Fab Ab challenge because it was just getting too hard, and I found myself pretty much spent by the end of my morning workout. :frown: This month I'm cutting back to more manageable numbers, but doing them faithfully (she said on the 7th of the month). My abs really do look a lot better thanks to all those crunches, planks, and push ups! I bought a new swimsuit, and it makes me feel great! :glasses:

I love the idea of checking the lyrics to the songs, definitely something worth doing. I had to take my car in for some recalls, and had my handy iPad with me, and I started reading more of Midnight Sun. Yes, I am guilty of not finishing it, and I still have some chapters left in breaking dawn, what can I say, I am savoring every moment, I don't want it to end.

I envy you still having the ends of those books still to read. I really NEED Stephenie to write something else!

Hello all! OK, So I'm a little frustrated my scale is not moving-not up or down (not that I want it to go up-at all) I have no clue what the problem is, but I shall deal with it.

I had a little "me" time today and I watched Breaking Dawn...I also watched Snow White this week.

Oh and I have been enjoying my finds from the local Farmer's Market-so I'm trying to be good! :drinker:

Scale went up a tiny bit this week, but between dealing with my *kitten* doctor on tuesday & making me stressed, and turning 41 on wednesday, I was glad it was as small as it was. I'm good with the water, having a problem with exercise minutes because If i'm not in the water classes, where there is a set time, I'm walking for my exercise and I normally just let the fitbit convert the calories burned for me, and I forget to write down how long I walked.
Twilight related, I bought a Team Edward Breaking Dawn 1 cup, and mom bought me the E/J/B eclipse ornament as a birthday gift and I got my Alice hair back

I'm sorry, I have been a bad team player this month. I'm doing well, just can't seem to find motivaton to come report!

I've been doing a lot more strenght moves, walking has come to a screeching halt because of the 100 + degree weather. pulled out the exercise bike but I miss my walks badly.

I'm a bad team player too. I need to get back into posting on the group thread! I have gotten back to seriously eating well/exercising though.

On the Twilight front, I keep meaning to post tidbits I find online, but it's such a pain to post pictures on MFP that I don't get around to it at times. I promise to try to do better. I am re-reading the books...almost to the end of Twilight. Think I'm going to skim New Moon though...not enough Edward in there for my taste.

Scorching heat in SC this weekend. Has hit a record 109 yesterday and today. Hope you are all keeping cool.

If you see this post, check in and let us all know how you're doing!!

Hey Leigh Ann, thanks for checking in!

I finally finished reading breaking dawn this week, I know, I know, I just never wanted it to end, and I kept putting it off. I was quite pleased with how things turned out.

I've been reading Midnight Sun, and find that quite interesting so far,

I own the Host, and need to read it BEFORE the movie comes out next year.

Stephanie Meyer, please publish something, we need a fix!

Sorry, I quit posting about halfway through the month.

Twilight related -- Last Saturday, I wore my Breaking Dawn T-shirt to the farmers market. A guy selling cucumbers greeted me with, "November 16th is too far away!" Then he went on to say how much he liked the trailer, and how he had made his wife promise not to watch it until he got home from work since she had watched the teaser without him the day before. Those cucumbers tasted extra yummy!

Surfrgrl -- I LOVE Midnight Sun!! I actually think it is my favorite of all Stephenie's books. I am dying for her to finish that book!

Twi, I'm nearing the end of New Moon for the 14th time. Alice and Bella are on their way to Italy. I love NM, but then I love tear jerkers!

I'm here, was starting to think I was the only one. Sort of Twi related, I took the godkids to CiCi's for pizza today (their favorite, not mine) and they have a new pizza with extra garlic, the sign says "vampires beware" I said to my goddaughter "I guess I better watch out" and she said "No, you're not sparkling"
