I know this makes sense, building muscle and losing fat, but would love to hear from anyone with similar experiences!

Was losing weight with calorie restriction and walking, but started c25k a month ago and weight plateaued. Body fat % by my Tanita scale and body measurements went down (1.5 in on belly), so we must bein the same boat. Even though I know this is good for me, I feel discouraged when I see the scale not budging!

    My scale isn't budging either.

But, I don't worry about the number on the scale as long as my butt is shrinking :)

I'm in week 4. I've lost about 2 pounds overall, probably water weight. It's not moving as fast as I want, but my clothes are fitting better and I've lost about an inch around my belly in the last week or so. I just stood up from a meeting and one of my coworkers asked "Have you lost weight?"

I don't care what I weigh... I just want to fit in a size 38 or 36 jeans again!
  • I'm down 4 lbs and just finished week 4. You are probably right about gaining muscle making up for the fat drop but are you eating enough calories?

I finished week 9. I ran my first 5k last week, and I feel so much more in shape. I couldn't run my first 1.5 minute in January.
I haven't lost pounds either. I feel a lot better in my clothes, and my coworkers told me that I look more fit, My shape is changing. My belly is melting slowly. I am a bit discouraged about my weigh but I believe it is going to go down from now. My muscles are strongers so my metabolism should kick off. I am 54 , and menopaused, and I did not gained weigh... it is my succes ....

Half way through week 2 and no weight loss... but have lost an inch off my waist. Not sure if it is C25K or eating well (eating to my BMR right now, plus 50% of my exercise calories) but it's enough to keep me going!

Yes - I had a plateau while doing C25K, not much weight loss but dropped a dress size! Have gone down another one since - running is ace!

Happened to me. I went 6 weeks without a drastic weight loss but was minus inches! It sounds like this isn't atypical, I'd like to know the science behind it.

Starting up again next week but this time I'm hyper aware of calories in/out to see if it makes a difference. I'm also going to add 2 days of strength training inbetween.
