Hello Everyone! We had another successful week of exercise and hopefully eating good food too!
Congrats to the following people who made last week's goal of 13miles of cardio or 250minutes of exercising!
Tammy -- Fatpal1
Sarita -- Sarita66
It is a new week so let's start a new challenge. Because our group has gained some new people we aren't going to change the goals much this week. But we are still spicing things up a bit with the new challenge section . Next week will be really creative... (insert evil laugh!)
This week the goal is to get in 12miles of cardio on an INCLINE! You can walk/jog/run (if you bike just count minutes like the classes) If 12 miles on an incline is too much and you are just starting out try for 6 miles on an incline. YOUR incline is at your own personal level do only what you are comfortable with. Those of you who love your classes (zumba etc.) let's shoot for 260 minutes of exercise. If you are new and just starting out shoot for 130min.
New to the challenge: Clock Lunge. check out this video for instructions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIm5-KIdWBk&feature=youtu.be
Extra Credit : Finish your daily water EVERY DAY (at least 8 glasses) and stay under your calories at least 5 days this week!
We can do this everyone! When we have support and some accountability it can be fun! 100 pounds is a lot of weight to lose so let's get active!
Showing up is half the battle how many days (rounded to the nearest 5) have you logged in?
*** if you finished the goals but didn't check back in time -- remember that I collect data on Sunday night (this week was Monday because of the holiday) turn in your results to be included on the leader board ***

Oh boy Lisa, you are covering all the bases! Ok, the water is a challenge for me so I will concentrate on that along with getting the miles in on an incline.
Good luck everyone!
Ok,so 40 minutes 2 miles on an incline so far.0 -
Didn't make last week but that is in the past and nothing I can do about that. But this is a brand new week and I can do something about that! Did 120 minutes in the pool today. Only logged it in as 60 minutes though since it was arthritis water aerobics and I couldn't find the calories burned for that.0

How do we count an incline for an elliptical? I do a higher level (16 out of 25) and it gets tough! I can't do walking for exercise because of severe plantar faciitis right now, but I love the elliptical. I also signed up to start a spinning class next week - AHHHH! But, I love the idea of a weekly goal so thank you! I will keep track of the mileage and level.
I am around 105 days of logging now! Do I just post results on Sunday night to this thread and keep track until then? Thanks for helping the newbie :-)0 -

If you use the elliptical and normally do level 16 why not try for level 17 a couple days this week? Or maybe use the hills program on level 16. Miles go a little faster on the elliptical so you will probably be able to do your normal routine in between trying something new.
You can give a running total all week if you'd like. I notice the people who check back a few times during the week actually stay on track and finish the challenges. There's no hard and fast rule as long as I get your total Sunday night or early Monday morning. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the challenge -- we try and do something every week to help each other stay accountable. Plus it's fun to finish and accomplish something! : )
Great start to the week everyone!0 -
thank you again :-)0

I am thinking about getting a trainer! Does anyone use one and did it really help you?0

I have mentioned before that I work with a trainer 2 x a week. I share with a friend to help with the cost. It has made a Hugh difference. Find a trainer that you really like, someone who will push you but also understands your limitations if there are any. Going with a friend is helpful. The weight is coming off slowly but I am so much stronger and have more endurance. I highly recommend working with a trainer if possible.0

Okay 300 minutes!!!! woooo what a week, During bootcamp last night I decided to use the 24 inch box for step ups, now I bring this up to tell you, that once upon a time at my daughters basketball game, I would always sit on the bottom bleacher, because I couldn't step up to next one with out a handle. So keep it going girls we can beat this0

Looks like I missed the Sunday check-in again. Note to self!!! Although I did drink 8 glasses of water 5 days and exercised 375 minutes. I also lost 2 more pounds even though I may have derailed that this past weekend. Bad weekend!!! :sad:0
