Cross your fingers you sit next to someone attractive, willing to talk, and funny when you take your seat on an airplane???

Haha yes! If not I hope for reprieve with good looking flight attendants!0

Well I usually cross my fingers the seat next to me is empty as I tend to sleep on the plane.0

All the time! I travel all the time for my job and this has only happened once!
Although it's got to the point, I am mainly crossing my fingers that whoever is sitting next to me isn't obese. I'm small and if the person next to me is huge it essentially means they'll be sitting half on me, with their sweat dripping all over me and their knees taking up most of my legroom. Ugh. I shouldn't have to take a shower just for a short hop to Philly, Detroit, or DC. This is especially true on Southwest. I'll never take them again. For whatever reason being a short small guy is like a homing beacon for 400+ plus dudes to sit next to me on Southwest.
At the times I fly (Monday and Friday), it's usually another business traveler, typically guy that is deathly quiet and either falls asleep or is engrossed in his work.0 -
Honestly...no. But it's got me thinking. I'm flying alone this morning...and it never crossed my mind. Now I'm crossing my fingers.0

Actually, I do the opposite. I hope for either an empty seat, or someone who will let me just read my book in peace.0

I pray that I sit next to a tiny person or have an empty seat next to me. Now that I am getting smaller I hope for a good looking gal to be sitting next to me or at least in the same row with an empty seat between.0

Hmmm! never done that, but will bear it in mind next time I travel alone :bigsmile:0

I forgot to add that I also pray I am not near any sick person since all planes are just pits of disease.0

ugh hate flying. last time was Summer of 2009. visiting friends in San Diego. I. was. big. my 2 before pics in my profile are from that trip. I now drive. though I will fly if I need to. it's probably not as bad now. >.>0 -
I do this ALL the time.... and it's even successful!
On a return flight from a vacation in London a few summers ago, I sat next to this really cute British guy who was not only really nice and chatty, but also single! He also traveled a lot for his work between London and my city, which was a nice bonus. We ended up exchanging phone numbers, and he invited me out to dinner a few days after our flight. On his next trip a month or so later, we met up again, but nothing really happened after that dinner, except a few texts here and there. Since then however, I always keep my fingers crossed that I might meet someone really great on a long flight. Weirder things have happened, right?0 -
HAHA> Yes!! All the time.. never happens! I did sit next to a couple and the girlfriend was super cute.0

I agree!! Unless it's a hot guy. Otherwise, leave me alone!0 -
I do that. It never works though. The last flight I was on (Dallas to Boston) I was stuck in the middle seat between an obese man and a girl who kept coughing on me. I crossed my fingers that I wouldn't have a mental break and go postal before we landed. Praise the liquor gods that for some reason they decided to give everyone free alcohol on that flight. :laugh:0

back when i was a sales engineer flying 2 or more weeks out of the month i use to cross my fingers for a cute girl that wanted to chat or an empty seat.0

No, I usually cross my fingers for an empty seat.
hahah it's actually funny now that I've realized it's true.
I'm an introvert :frown:0 -
HAHA YES!!!!
And half the time I either get some old person, or some boring lady. Once I had an international model sit next to me on my flight to L.A, which didn't help me seeing as I'm straight. She was unfriendly though, so I made my dad switch :laugh:0
