Not sure which calorie burn to trust!

Hey guys,
So I went out for a run this morning (16 miles) and wore both my BMF and my HRM (Garmin). The calories burned are massively discrepant between each other. I'm not sure which to believe! The HRM says I burned 1165 and the BMF says I burned 1708. That's like a 600 calorie difference... Which do you think is more accurate?

I'd use your HRM or split the difference in my opinion. The longer the high intensity cardio, the less accurate a BMF gets (I think) but for shorter burns it's fine. An HRM will always be a better resource for longer, high intensity cardio from reports I've seen.0

Go with the HRM for sure.0

I would also go with the HRM.0

Okay.. That's a bit concerning to me because at what point can you trust the BMF then? Also, does 1200 calories for 16 miles sound a bit low to you?0

Anyone? Bump?0

It sounds very low to me. I burn about 90 calories per mile when I run and I run pretty slow (10 min mile) and don't weigh a lot. So I probably would have burned over 1400. I'm not sure how that would compare to your burn.0
