Ease up to TDEE or jump in feet first?

Which should I do? Currently eating at 1660 and eating exercise calories back....shooting for TDEE of 2000...should I just jump right on in or what?

I say if you can handle it, go for it. If you know you want to get to TDEE, would you rather add several weeks to that? In the long run, it's a short time, but if you can handle it emotionally and mentally, I think it's worth it. I wish I would have jumped in instead of testing the water.

What should I be prepared for? Gain and bloating?

I upped mine slowly and I gained about 3 lbs, but I only had the bloating for the first few days or so.

I did it this way becasue I'm in no hurry to lose the fat fast as I don't want it to come back.........EVER!!!!!!

I jumped right into it and increased my cal all the way. There is a sticky talking about what one can expect. It helped me a lot. I don't track my weight yet. Remember that some bodies need to forgive first before they start letting go. This group is awesome. You'll love it.

  • I think I'm just going to do it and not think too hard about it! I've got 3 weeks until this boot comes off so once I'm running again, I'll be burning a crap ton more calories so what ever gain I might see, I'll quickly shed. ;)

I jumped from 1600 to 2900 a day in one day. It was so much food for the first week I always felt like I was going to explode. But that subsided. Now for example it's 5:15 and I only have 400 calories left and I am stuuuuuaaarving.

I increased my calories slowly mainly so I could wrap my brain around the process slowly. I knew I would total freak and run for the hills if my weight went up drastically.
