My fittness pal.....

My fitness pal is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I have stuggled my entire life with weight problems both up and down. You could say I was always a mindless eater or starved myself unless on a diet. I have been told a calorie is a calorie, it doesn't matter where it comes from. Today I am not on a diet, I am just eating like a normal person would eat. It feels good not to deprive myself.

  • Good for you!! I know you can do it. I also dont believe a calorie is a calorie. I have tried everything but now I picture weight loss differently in my head. I think you have to focus on your body doing what it naturally wants to do - food in - process - and food out as efficiently as possible. For me, that means, eat what is useful to that process and then work your body (exercise) to facilitate that process, drinking plenty of water to keep keep it all moving. A wellness coordinator referred me to this site for the purpose of keeping a food diary so she can help me make better choices for my situation. At this point, it is only to look at my current eating habits; however, now that I have been doing this a week - it is actually forcing me to be more accountable and aware of my choices. I passed over desert because I didnt want to have to put it in my food tracker later. At first it was about being judged but now when I look back over my week, I am actually seeing the bigger picture.

Wow! It sounds like (for today) you are very committed. I like to hear about success as well as the down times. We all have our own journey. That is why I like this site becasue the numbers are a baromater for me to see my progress or lack of. I am learning how to feed my authentic self. I am able to see on print what works for me and what doesn't. Thank you for your insightful input
