starting over :(

I am starting over on cycle 1 because I feel like I did a half assed job on cycle one first time around and an even worse start to cycle 2. Let's see if I can actually follow the rules this time around. I am such a rule breaker and that is not always a bad thing.......but in this case........does me no good. Hope I survive

Maybe treat the rules more like guidelines. The 1st cycle is tough for me. I've done it for the past 2 days, but today, I'm doing a day of cycle 2. I have lost 3.4 lbs (most likely water weight, but it makes me happy) and I'm on "day 3".
  • I am starting cycle 1 today after a failed attempt a few weeks ago. I can't promise I'll post everyday, but I am here to support!

There is nothing wrong with half assed...it is better than no assed...no, wait that doesn't make sense. You know what I mean!! This diet is difficult especially the first week. I almost gave up on day 2!! But you made it all the way through cycle 1 (even if it was half assed)

This website had some really great recipe ideas...not all of them are "by the book", but most of the are pretty good. I am here if you need me...

Hey Girl what is with the sad face and negative talk!! You know better than that!! LOL! In all seriousness...this diet plan is a real challenge, I didn't stick with it, but I certainly don't think of it as a failure...on the contrary...I feel like it was the path to better eating and a lifestyle change. We women beat ourselves up way too much. Try to focus on the positives...I bet you've still eaten better than you had been before.

I try to set both longer term goals as well as daily goals to keep focused on what I want. I have a fabulous suit in a size 8 (and a small 8 at that) that I want to wear back to work...it's hanging in my closet so I see it every day and I LOVE it so it's good motivation. I have another dress I want to wear to a friend's wedding in August. Today, I am focusing on how good I feel when I eat well and get some exercise in...I did my weights this morning and had a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack today so far.

dyannajoy - Good luck with incorporating more of the 17 day guidelines. Be sure you take in enough calories, because that's where I struggled (and felt like crap) at the beginning. I'm now using some low-carb protein shakes to help ensure I hit 1200 each day.

I will keep on trying though:smile: oh and I did find the website that you posted and it is a GREAT one!! thanks!!

yes you are right.......we ARE way too hard on ourselves........just feeling a little (or alot) discouraged today. Gained back 2 of the 4 I lost and I have had no grains or starchy veggies for over 3 weeks!! couldn't I have been enjoying myself and done the same thing!:grumble:

So yes time for a change of attitude and trying to follow the program better. I will NOT give up this time........

I love the goals you are shooting for! can't wait to see pics of you in that gorgeous suit!:flowerforyou:

not a problem with taking in enough calories:tongue: But I too do a protein shake for breakfast each morning as I cannot handle solid food before noon. I will keep on.......thanks for the encouragement!

Dyanna, good luck with your restart! Sorry to hear you were disappointed with your results, but glad to hear you are sticking with it. I wouldn't recommend restarting again after this time though, for fear of losing interest with the restricted diet, and Dr Moreno has put the cycles in place for a reason. Good for you though, willing to plow through 2 cycles of cycle 1 in a row (essentially), I'm not sure I could do it. By the end of cycle 1, I am usually good and ready for beef and starches! I am going to have a delicious steak tomorrow!! I can't wait!

It might just take you a couple times of this to be able to follow the rules. I might suggest you start with breakfast and a morning snack. Make the full effort to make those meals 100% according to the book. Next round add lunch and the afternoon snack. Don't get so down on yourself. You CAN do this, but there are many emotional and physical battles to conquer those are easier for some people than others.

    Hi :-)

OK, I am still struggling lol, but the weightloss really doesn't come unless I stick to the plan! I think I am having a ahrd time mentally, because I have a wedding to attend on Saturday and realistically I won't stick to it, so like why bother now? LOL I know that's a lame excuse.....
