This looks tempting, but has anyone tried it?

I haven't tried it but I bought some of the Atkins mix http://www.atkins.com/Products/Cuisine/All-Purpose-Baking-Mix.aspx

The bread isn't particularly delicious. It's super heavy and bitter tasting. It's not too bad with butter. I've never been a fan of whole grain breads anyway. I needed to make the bread for a strata recipe Atkins posted on Pinterest (http://www.recipe.com/hearty-sausage-vegetable-strata/) and I doubled the bread thinking I needed it for a base (6 servings is actually 3 slices) but it ended up being too much bread, too over-powering. I wish I'd had stuck to the original recipe.

    The pancakes are awesome, though.

Since you're new to low carb I will offer this bit of advice - don't make bread right now. Get over bread. Get way over bread. Then, like 3 months or so in to your plan, maybe consider trying a bake mix.

Having a ****ty fake bread around is just going to make you want the real thing more. Or you'll end up eating way too much of the ****ty fake bread. Give yourself time to make a clean break with bread and then when you're in a place where you don't miss bread but you could use a little variety so you have some ****ty fake bread because you feel like it.

Those ingredients are full of fail IMO. I wouldn't put any of that in my mouth while on a low carb diet....or any time.

Better off making bread out of almond flour or even peanut butter.

Agree with ZipperJJ. Although, I have been experimenting with breads make with almond flour/coconut flour/flaxseed for my kids just because it's a much healthier and more nutritious option than most breads out there. They have been really good.

I haven't tried it, but I have tried a couple recipes.

I made this recipe http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/breads/r/flaxbasicfoc.htm and it's not bad at all. It's similar to a muffin in a minute, but not quite as "nutty" tasting.

These are pretty good too http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=259930

HAHA! I actually never eat bread already, so you have a point here! Why bother!
