Tell me all about your love for RHPS! Did you ever perform? Do you go to the shows? Do you have any tattoos??
I grew up with RHPS. My mom didn't censor tv for us, so me and my bro were like, four and seven the first time we saw it... (maybe this is what is wrong with us....). By the time I was in middle school I could recite the film, knew every floor show dance, and knew why Superheros was so mysterious and amazing.
In my late teens I joined the cast, and worked on the tech crew for a few months. Then a bunch of us got together and mutinied on the director, changed up everything (including the name, they're still going by Colorado's Elusive Ingredient...), at which time I was co-director for a few months.
I've played Eddie, Brad, and had one banner night as Frank...
Ten years or more had passed since I'd been to a show, so a couple weeks ago I went with my cousin. A couple of the young n00bs from when I was on cast are now running the show, and doing a damn good job of it.
In Denver they do themes for each showing. Instead of coming dressed as characters, you come dressed in the theme. It was Sci-Fi night when I went. I had no amazing costumes so I just made myself look alien-ish.. but the tech crew all dressed as members from Firefly, there were more than one Trekkie, and before the show the guy playing Dr. Scott was dresses as Professor X.
Anyway, I love Rocky - my whole family does really.. A holiday doesn't go by without at least one or two lines + call backs.

Ooh Kort I'm jealous!
I've never been in it or seen it live. But when I was young I had it on VHS and watched it over and over. I tend to obsess on things and I can remember listening every morning before school.
You know I may just have to dress up and find a midnight showing one of these days. I always wanted to but never did.0 -
I've never seen the Rocky Horror Pictures show.
I understand if you don't want to be my friend anymore.0 -
As a kid I always felt like I was doing something wrong by watching Rocky!
As an adult I went to the show and really did start doing all kinds of wrong!!! I love Rocky!0 -
Saw it once, thought it was ok \m/0

I was in two casts, once as Magenta, and one as Columbia since I'd been a dancer and could tap lol. The productions they put on back when I was a teen was glorious. The ones they put on here are horrid. A couple years ago, I got up and left after the Time Warp because it was so bad.0

I definitely had really hard time with the way things are now. ... the kids just don't seem quite as dedicated. But, I wrote that all off as being an old fuddy-duddy and did my best to hang with the old-skool call backs.
The pre-show when I went was an AMAZING drag queen. A large black woman - she had to have been 6'6" - whose shimmy put Shakira to shame.0 -
BONUS TIME! My daughter is the whole reason I love makeup.... she started getting interested in theater makeup and now hopes to became a makeup artist in the film industry... here are a couple of her attempts at Rocky makeup...
Columbia, natch:
And the Dr., complete with his signature "wtf" face:
Double bonus Zombie Zoe:0 -
Used to go to the ones in Upstate NY. One of my biggest thrills in my life was seeing it at the actual 8th Street Playhouse in the village on halloween one year. I of course, dressed up as Eddie. I haven't been in years, but the last time I went I felt like the oldest guy in the room since the lines changed so much. (I love how the show evolves from year to year.)0

A friend directs and puts on a show every year at halloween. I went for the first time ever a few years back and had SO MUCH FUN!0

I've seen it so many times, but never at the theater with a live show. I'm a weirdo that won't go by myself.0

I used to go to Rocky all the time when I was 14-15 years old. I loved it.0
