Do you adapt this diet to your needs?

I ask this because in my experience with the diet, I’ve found that if you are reasonable and do not stray to far from the logic of it, it works. Let me explain, for those who haven’t read my past topic on the group I’ve done this before and it’s worked very well for me ( the reason why I gained so much back is explained in my topic “things you should know” dated May 30th).
For example, I’m not much of a dairy eater, I don’t drink milk except in my coffee (and it has to be extra slim) and I don’t eat yogurt on a regular basis. On this diet though I have to at least eat yogurt, not only to feel fuller but also because I have a calcium deficiency and I need at least a little dairy in my diet. Because plain yogurts are just about the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten, I eat 0% yogurt with pieces of fruit (diet or no diet it’s the only thing that can go down). They are tolerated on the diet NOW, they weren’t 6 years ago and I eat 2, max 3 a day if I’m not feeling well. I also eat pieces of beef that are not “allowed” because considered too fat (but I take the entire fat out). The two exceptions above might make die hard Dukan dieters cringe, I know the type of yogurt I eat did years ago, but I find that this is what I need to do for this diet to work for me. They are the only exceptions I make.
I realised today that it’s been exactly 2 weeks and I’ve already lost 10 pounds doing exactly what I did the first time ( the first time I lost around 30 pounds in about 8 to10 weeks tops ).
How about you? Do you adapt certain guidelines to make things easier and maintain a gradual weight loss?

I've adapted a little bit... I eat low fat vanilla yoghurt, also can't get the plain down, unless I add lemon juice, black pepper and a bit of garlic, then I eat it on veg and protein days as a dip for vegetables. I eat a lot of dried, cured meat, in South Africa we call it biltong, its like bresola (not sure about the spelling), its good as a snack when I have cravings. But I also don't eat any fat on it.
Also my protein shakes, I drink them when I'm really hungry and have no immediate alternative.
Do you take a calcium replacement? I drink a Cal/Mag with boron supplement because I also don't take enough calcium.
Then overall I have started paing a lot of attention to labels... If something is 3% or less carbs per 100 grams, then I dont mind having it...0 -
I take a supplement of vitamin D every 3 months that help me absorb calcium Because i don't "stray" very far from what is allowed, i haven't started looking at the labels. But, as soon as i hit stabilization, i'll have to really know my stuff, that’s why i'm starting at least to get informed and make sure i can read a label properly . I basically hate to waits my time so when i finally get there, I’ll know what to do and how to eat responsively.0

I love yogurt!! Therefore I'm quite happy to be allowed to eata lot of it!
However sometimes I adapt the diet for:
- meat:I love sauteed pork with spices - I make sure to have parts as lean as can be
- nuts: from time to time I have one or two of them, not more (walnuts, almonds, nuts). They have good fats and comeon it's only 1-2 of them...
- yogurt: today I had half of my man's regular fruit yogurt (regular fat content, sugar added) and I mixed it with plain low-fat yogurt. I love cherry yogurts too much to resist
-protein powder: we're not supposed to take it, but it's 85% protein, and almost no sugar or fat. Plus it has cocoa mixed in... So I mix the regular dose with plain yogurt for a thick chocolate-like dessert, or with soy milk.0 -
I love my protein shake (protein powder + unsweetened almond milk or water). As I am in the attack phase, it is a complete no-no for me during this phase. I want to do this right and see what the attack phase can give me ;-)
Also, I tried one of the Rose Lassi recipe on Dukan. It tastes great. However, the recipe calls for splenda/sweetener though.
Cheers!0 -
I need to find Almond Milk, i keep seeing recipes with it and i'm very curious to see what the results are. Don't know if i can find any in health food stores in France but i have to give it a go0

My protein shake has no carbs in at all, as it's my breakfast I'm not giving it up! I don't eat dairy so I'm using Kara Dairy Free (coconut based) for my milk, I only have about 200mls per day though.0

I pretty much only use this diet (high protein, low-moderate fat, low carb) when gauging progress...it helps me deplete glycogen and the extra water weight for a few days exercising. It's good seeing some progress on the scale, but then I add carbohydrates back in once my gym performance starts suffering. It's so much less effortlless than simply exercising away all my carbohydrate stores with marathon-like endurance training.
It's also a very practical diet for periods of time where you simply can't exercise. No point in consuming lots of carbs if you don't really need them, I just up my fat a bit as to not go too far into a caloric deficit.0
