Detoxes and Cleanses

I was wondering if any of you have experiences with Ayurvedic cleanses or detoxes? I am currently doing a cleanse from the book "If the Buddha Came to Dinner". It's a great book, I highly recommend it -- half reading, half interesting, easy recipes that include not just seasonal principles but also principles of food combining. (I'll let you know how the cleanse itself goes after I'm done!)
I've also done the LifeSpa short home cleanse (SHC), which you can read about here: http://ajourneyintohealth.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-experience-with-short-home-cleanse.html, and last September I did one that was publicized in Yoga Journal.

Thanks for the heads up about the book. I'll definitely look into it and the blog post you referenced.
I did a cleanse earlier this year but it wasn't particularly Ayurveda-focused. I have been thinking about doing another one, maybe a mono-fast to super-simplify my diet and try to remediate my cravings and using food as a distraction.0 -
I'd definitely check this out. I'm almost on the second phase (starts Sunday) and I'm amazed at what I can eat and how my cravings are nearly gone. I never thought I could sustain myself on what she says (fruits and veggies only, 6 days for phase 1) but other than the first day, I feel fantastic! And I'm still running 4-5 miles every other day, doing yoga, etc.0
