What?? I'm starting this month's thread? Oh, the irony!
It's July...summer is in full swing (for those of us in the Northern hemisphere, anyway...) and it's the time of boozy bar-be-ques and cold beer.
This is a place of support, no judging--or I'll b!tch-slap you.
Welcome to any newcomers!!
So, I'm still being good with the little to no drinking. Whoo hoo. Shellisugar is visiting this weekend and I plan on being drunk pretty much the entire time.

Sunday, 0, Super long day at work 7A to 7P
I have nothing witty or insightful to offer. I am brain fried.
Monday, working 3P to 11P so I should be lush-free0 -
0 last night. I've had some wine tonight.
I pulled a calf muscle so I just did upper body strength training today.
I'm thinking a day at the pool tomorrow.
By Tuesday I'm hoping I won't be walking like an old lady. Even though I am one :grumble:
Work sucks, Kim. I'm about to go back soon. Unless I hit the lotto and I can pay for the kids college.0 -
Can't believe its July already!
Super lushy weekend! Zero yesterday and loads of water! Tonight we are going to Naperville Ribfest....so yummy BBQ and beer I am sure. Tomorrow night we are have people over to cook out and Wednesday going to the lake. I have decided to take off this week from logging just because I need a break. But, will be back at it strong next Monday. I may even think about doing a no booze challenge (maybe). But, we will see0 -

Thank you Amy for starting the thread this month. I was really avoiding the computer yesterday and I totally spaced on it being a new month. I guess Mama Lush was just a little too lushy:blushing:
there was a bit of wine this weekend and vodka and a pumpkin beer and some really good food so it was a good weekend.0 -
Well, it was pretty damn lushy all weekend. Too many gatherings! But starting tonight, I'm reducing the beer intake and having pink grapefruit sparkling water with a lot of ice. Yummy!0

Hello Lushes!!! I have returned from my week long vacation...and heading to Tulsa tomorrow night for the 4th! I can't even begin to keep track of how much I have drank in the past week. WAY TOO MUCH!!! After the 4th, I'm going on serious detox & not drinking til I go to Iowa at the end of the month. Oh my oh my!
Happy July everyone!0 -
Hello Fellow Lushes, after a super lushy week/weekend I am really feeling like I need to kick it up a notch. My wedding is in September and the drinking just doesn't seem to stop, and I feel it is hindering my weight loss efforts grr! Does anyone have any ideas/tips on what I can do to minimize drinking? I fear if I try to stop completely it will back fire when I do drink grr. Any tips would be great!0
-
I have pretty much cut out any drinking that isn't social for the summer (just because there is sooo much social drinking going on). So no glasses of wine during the week while watching my shows, etc. I got married in September last year and I didn't lose any of the weight I wanted to mainly because of all the summer drinking. The only way I could see how to cut back is to really almost have no social life. Sorry I know that really doesn't help :ohwell:0
-
Thanks Chloe, honestly just having you say that you struggled having a wedding so late in summer helps! I pretty much don't drink unless it is socially but as you know there are just so many things going on! Grr not sure I will win this one.0

Tueday-0...no plans to put any down.
Tomorrow, well that's a different story. Still gonna try and be moderate :huh:0 -
Wow it is really raining. Up here it is usually just misty but today it is torrential. Ritter had his balls cut yesterday so today he is wearing the "cone of shame" an looking absolutely miserable. I had to stay home and work virtual to monitor him. He is a champ.
Vodka last night. the weather is supposed to get better so I hope to have a great holiday and eat and drink foolishly. have a great day.0 -
0 yesterday. Hoping for 0 today. jeebus Syd..surely you can manage 2 days in a row.

Oh I know you can do it, Sydney....question is do you want to :laugh:0 -
Still 0's for me. That makes 5 days and only 2 more to go. Should be easy, since we have no plans for the fourth.
Robin - poor wittle Ritter. When I was leaving the vet one time a customer was paying their bill for having their dog neutered and asked the Dr. to preserve the balls because they were getting them bronzed! First time I heard of that :noway:
Sid - I am wagering you can do another day of 0.
Seems quiet around here without Kat...0 -

SO true. I just finished working out and already have thoughts of "I wonder if I have enough calories for some wine tonight?"
I just need to tell myself..not today. Period. :ohwell:0 -

YOU rock! But that's not news. I've told you that many times before.0 -

I'm in the same boat!! My day is already accounted for but I'm going to the gym tonight and know there will be extra cals but I just have to be strong....its only two days of sobriety right shoud be easy to manage :laugh:0 -
Let me eat those words.....I burned more cals then I expected at the gym (not a bad thing) so I have an extra 300 cals I need to put down and it seems they are in the form of sweet tea vodka, oopsies....yummy :happy:0
-
I had (really, really, really bad/cheap) whiskey last night...probably about 3 shots. I had a small hunk of glass (bigger than a sliver, fo'sho) stuck in the ball of my foot and I couldn't get it out without prying. So, I started taking shots so The Husband could attack it with a razor blade.
I told Shelli that I was going to pick her up from the airport with a cooler full of IPAs in the back of the car. :drinker:0 -

I am having trouble finding sweet tea vodka since the degovernmentalization of the liquor here. I want sweet tea vodka and lemonade for the celebrations today. Truly celebrating that big bright light in the sky that is scheduled to be here for about two weeks starting this morning. It is glorious. Happy 4th dear lushes.0
-
Happy 4th of July!! :explode: Celebrate with wild abandon.....or not. lol :explode:
It will be zero for me today as I have an interview tomorrow. Which is a much needed break. Although I did do zero on Monday; :blushing: course that was cause Jose came and partied on Friday and didn't leave til Sunday.... argh.
Keep saying, and I sound like a broken record to myself, I need to just pick one night and that's it. Being unemployed, it is too easy to say what the heck cause the morning entails nothing.
Have a good one my fellow lushes!! :drinker:0 -
Happy 4th all!!
This will be the first 4th that I will not be drinking!! The hubs & I were supposed to go to Tulsa (& boating on the lake right about now), but he is miserably sick...so looks like our 4th will consist of laying around & trying to get him to feel better. Poor guy! I feel so helpless!!
All you fellow lushes, drink some for me!! Happy 4th!0 -
:drinker: :drinker: Happy Birthday America!!:drinker: :drinker:
Today is the day that I am attempting to be alcohol-free. I have about 2 weeks until my trip to Chicago for a wedding and Mandy's grad party. I want to wear a new dress that's kind of clingy in the hips and the rolls and puffy tummy are NOT attractive at all. It's time to get serious.
Today was barre yoga and I walked home from there...700'ish cals burned...I will get back down to where I was.
Kate, love the WD photo.
Bridget, sorry about hubs...but, we are doing the exact same thing which is staying home. I don't want to go anyway, do anything or entertain anyone.
Barbara, nice to meet you :flowerforyou:
Dot, hubs should have given you a leather strap to bite on as well.hope the foot is all good now. Have a super rockin' fun time with shelli.
Off to clean this disgusing house and laundry....working girl tomorrow and hopefully some yoga or a C25K seez.
Anyone else considering refraining for a while?0
