I just did day 1 and yes....PUSH UPS SUCK! Just do the best you can, keep trying, you'll get it! I do modified and can only do about 4 before I stop but I just take a small breather and start trying again. YOu can do it!

So hard! I was doing modified modified push-ups yesterday, lol. I did manage to get about 3 of the "girlie" push-ups done the right way on the 2nd time through the circuit though and I was so proud! Just keep trying :)

I've done 3 days so far, and the pushups are getting a little easier, well modified, not tried full!lol

I hate the jumping jacks and jump rope though!

I'm on day 5 today and they really do get easier! I found when I started my arms were far weaker than I first thought they were, but she has you doing work on them so much during level one anyway that it builds up pretty fast. Keep at it!

I just finished my first workout and I could only do a few of the modified pushups. They are so tough! Cardio is nothing in comparison, although it still kicked my butt today because I did the workout after finishing 5 miles on my treadmill. I have spent 6 months working out only on my treadmill and ignoring strength training and it really shows. I'm wondering if I should stay on level 1 until I can do pushups for the whole set and not collapse on the ground part way through. I hope I'll make some progress by the end of the week though and be able to do more like some of you are saying. :)

Just work yourself up to the push-ups. Last year I started to do as many push-ups as I could handle each day to build up my body to be able to handle them. I could barely do one push-up, but now I am able to handle them. If you can only do one real push-up a day or at a time then do it. Then the next time try to add another. This is what my father told me to do, and it definitely worked for me. In the meantime just try to do the modified version that Anita is doing. Also, you can get a chair or two, and do chair dips to help you build up your arms until you are ready to do the push-ups. Another thing you can do is lean against the wall, as Khloe_Nicole suggested, or lean against your bed in a push-up position and perform your push-ups this way.

I know...I hate them! I do the modified and just do as many as I can, stop, and then start again as soon as I can. I can't wait until I can complete the whole set without stopping! But then I'll have to move on to do the full....scary!

Great job for everyone doing pushups, whether they are modified or not.. Pushups are not easy and good for you if you did 1 standard or 1 modified.. YOU DID IT! And remember this is day one.. Think about how many you will be able to do at day 30!

    Agree! Pushups Suck.
    Day 1 - 7 pushups done
    Day 2 - 8 pushups done
    Today - day 3 - 11 pushups done.

Getting stronger. But they still suck!

I'm in the military and have to do regular pushups as part of pt but when I do this, I always do the modified ones - they are easier, especially as you keep going!

Modify the pushups....Do the wall pushups...or if you're by the stairs use those. Once you get used to doing those you'll be able to do pushups from the floor without any problems.
