Hello P90X challenge people! I have a problem. Yesterday, I finally bought a strap HRM and so far I love it! As most of you know, I have been struggling with my wrist HRM for a while. Well, today is day 7 for me of my first week of P90X. I know it is either a REST or STRETCH X day. However, I want to workout. LOL! I'm also kind of struggling, because its getting closer to my weekly weigh in and I feel like I need to bust it out, cause its been sort of a difficult week for me because of the Fourth and all. I love me some Zumba or some light jogging. Is it OK to workout on Day 7 for those that have been more die hard at this type of challenge, than myself?

PS. Does anyone use a New Balance N4 HRM? I wanted to purchase a Polar F4 or F7, but only was able to find the New Balance one in the stores I was shopping. (I'm an impatient girl, I guess). Could you tell me anything about your experiences if you have an N4. Thanks

I think you should work out if your body allows. I did the 30 D Shred 30 days no rest. Just remember you have to do it again next week so don't over do it.

I'm doing the 1st group weigh in on the 15th half way to the end of Block 1!

I had a new balance hrt slim and it wasn't doing what I needed all it did was count steps, I found it hard to set up and after a workout like Plyometrics it was telling me i burned 50 Cals. I returned it and got a Polar FT7 which I love.

When I use my polar and match my Calories burned to the P90X calculator it is usually in the same ball park. It also has a chest strap which I don't mind.

Do what you feel is best for you on rest days. In the schedule, you can res, do active rest (like walking swimming etc...) or StretchX. Just keep your rest day low key and don't overdo it or your body will not know what to do.

You need sleep to help recharge your brain, you need body rest to help recharge your body. Or you risk overtraining and injuries associated with that and those take a time to heal from-away from your workouts.

Hi, I realize I'm late to the party, but the big thing with rest days are no resistance training. It's ok to do cardio if you feel up for it, have the energy, etc. But make sure you take time to stretch. All exercise with no focused stretching isn't good.

    agreed.

stretching is extremely important. and so are rest days. But if you decide to go on a hike/walk or to the lake with friends, go. Don't think that you can't do anything that day. Just don't go crazy and do strength training. I'm just saying that you need to give your body a break to rest and repair.

Basically, listen to your body. You'll know what it needs.
