Hello Everyone!
Leader board!

Welcome to all of the new people! It is a new week so let's start a new challenge. We had slowed things down the past couple of weeks to see if we could get participation up and it's working! Activity on the board is starting to pick back up! Don't forget to check out the "new to the workout" section.
This week the goal is to get in 16 miles of cardio! You can walk/jog/run (if you bike just count minutes like the classes) If 16 miles is too much and you are just starting out try for 8 miles. Those of you who love your classes (zumba etc.) let's shoot for 240 minutes of exercise -- That's 60 minutes of exercise 4 times a week or 4 one hour classes.
New to the workout: 50 sets of 21's-- you can use a barbell, dumbells, kettle bells, or exercise band see an example at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BszoX2CJhFI
Also new!!! *** Bonus!! Stay in the green for your food log 6 days this week and earn a bonus flower on the leader board!***
*** if you finished the goals but didn't check back in time -- remember that I collect data on Sunday night turn in your results to be included on the leader board ***
*** I am NOT a doctor consult a physician for clearance if you need to do so! ****

Hi Everyone! Please provide your "real" first name for the leader board next week. We'd like to get to know you! Also no one specified that they ate in the green so I could only give myself the flower. Join in everyone!0

I'm in. If my ankle is feeling better that is. Still a little tender from my spill.
Its nice to "compete" against someone other than myself. :P

Sorry can you explain it a bit simpler? I usually get my cardio in by bike riding so I just need to do it for 1 hour 4 times a week, plus some strength training? Does pushups/situps/squats count?0
-
Hi Angie! Basically if you like to ride a bike then count your minutes instead of your mileage. 21's are strength training but you don't have to do any strength training unless you want to.
Lisa! I hope your ankle feels better soon. Try and not let it knock you off track.0 -
STATUS CHECK! Is everyone doing ok out there? This week has been INSANE. My trainer cancelled on me twice this week because of his schedule conflicts. I had an 18 page paper due yesterday, a big presentation and two assignment deadlines at work. This has not been good on the schedule. SLAMMED and having a hard time making time to exercise. When am I gonna get the hang of this. It seems like it gets really easy when my schedule is light but when I am busy taking time for myself is the first thing to go. Boo. How are you?0

Haven't been as active this week as I would have liked. I'm taking two days off (when I usually prefer to take only one) because my husband is leaving for three weeks this coming Monday - just want to spend some extra time together, etc. But as of Monday next week, I'll have no distractions whatsoever! It will just be me, the gym, and Billy Blanks! (Er, via my DVDs, anyway. lol!) Kinda looking forward to it! And hoping to lose enough (inches OR weight) that he'll be able to see a little difference when he gets back... :happy:0

Hang in there Melissa! It gets easier as you keep up the exercise. Go and work out even if the trainer cancels. This week has been better. I have manged to stay in the green all but 1 day. I hope it pays off tomorrow.
Take care everyone!0 -
Awe, you can do it Melissa!!!
Lika- Good luck w/no hubby for distractions.
Due to a busted ankle, I've only managed 2 miles of road time. But went swimming at the beach twice, and have burned more than my weekly goal.
Hopefully going jogging tonight. I'll update tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!!!0 -
Finally, finally a weight lose. I was able to stay in the green 6 out of 7 days. I managed to keep up the exercise despite the heat!
Whooo hoooo!0 -

YAY!!! Sarita I am SO happy for you girlfriend! Keeping your diet under control was a major goal for you! Nice! And the weight loss? Icing on an already fabulous cake! (pardon the dessert reference)
Yahooooooo!0 -
Funny thing (kinda) .... I went to the trainer yesterday and he had one of those gigantic tractor tires laying on its side. He was asking me to step in with one foot and squat. Then I didn't lift my foot high enough and I fell over onto the floor. TWICE. Not cool man not cool. I was laughing (out of embarrassment) but I wasn't hurt. The positive is that I didn't quit. I fell on the floor in front of a football team and three REALLY smokin' hot trainers and I got up and kept moving!
I have goals ladies -- have to keep my eye on the prize!0 -

Sometimes alone time is PERFECT for refocusing ourselves! Go girl!0 -
Good for you Melissa. Just wait until the trainer has you flipping those tires over during training. You go power woman!0
