7/8 Week Challenges

Alright guys! Seems like most of us had an alright week for the most part. Here's the challenges for the week, try to focus on two:

1) Water! Seems like a lot of us still struggle, so get those 8 glasses in every day!!

2) Running, this week I challenge any runners to sprint intervals. If you have access to a track, do one lap (or half a lap) sprint, one lap walk/jog. Try to do as many throughout the week as possible, or at least 10 in a row.

3) Let's track exercise minutes!! Try to set a goal for yourself that is higher than usual, like if you usually do 30 minutes a day aim for 45 or whatever seems reasonable.

4) Try a new exercise! If you usually run, try to add in some biking, or a new elliptical machine, try rowing or a new exercise video on youtube (I personally love a lot of the Tiffany Rothe workouts!). Just something new at least 3 times this week, doesn't have to be the same thing.

5) Abs and/or squats! Try to do at least 5 minutes a day of both.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you want to see any other challenges in the next couple of weeks, always helps to get new ideas!

I have been doing great with my water so I will continue that.

I did 45-65 minutes of exercise ever day except for today - I will try to do 60 minutes a day.

I was thinking of alternating Zumba and Biggest Loser this week (I haven't done Biggest Loser in awhile). Is that considered new or do I need to do something I haven't done?

I will try to add in the Abs & squats, too.

Thank you for doing these challenges!!

    Let's kick butt this week!!

TerraLea- I think something you haven't done for a while counts as something new... I guess rephrasing would be something that is not apart of your usual routine.

Hi Everyone, i just joined the group - is this a closed group or can I just jump in on the challenges? I need some motivation really badly and hope this will be a way to get back on track.

    VeganKelli- thanks!

I did my 5 minute Abs, logged & drank my 96oz of water. I have a set back with my workouts. I stepped on a toothpick last night. The tip of it was stuck in the ball of my foot. I'm trying to find something I can do with the pain I am in. I will figure it out.

    1) Water! I love water and drink so much of it and it really helps so I will continue this!

    2) Running....I have started running some intervals during my walks. I will try to make them longer.

    3) I averaged 161 minutes a day last week and 152 minutes before that, which is incredible now that I have figured it out! I will go for 180 minutes this week which sounds like a lot when you think of three hours a day, but I have a long way to go and I have the time this summer so I do morning, day, and night. I honestly didn't realize I was doing this much...good for me.

    4) Try a new exercise! New is definitely better, Our bodies get in routines and like to hang on to them. I am going to look for something that will make me dance....I love music!

    5) Abs and/or squats! I was challenged to do 150 squats throughout the day. I am not sure about five minutes, but I bet 150 will be at least five minutes. I will try to abs as well!

As for new challenges, I would like to see us challenge each other to eat healthier or cleaner.....like try some new oil like flax, or eat a variety of 10 different raw fruits or vegetables, or colors throughout the week, participate in a natural liver cleanse, or some other idea anyone has.

Other ideas might include health and beauty regimes. Challenge ourselves to treat ourselves well with some natural facials, or skin cleansing, or foot care.

And NSV's...like inches lost in an area of our body, or clothing celebration :)

I am keeping cream & a bandaid on it. It does feel better today, but still hurts. We have a pool, however, I can't swim until Saturday. I had surgery June 1st and can't swim for 6 weeks. Saturday I am SWIMMING!!!

    Thanks for the suggestions.
