Since the first of the year my doc has noticed alot of his patients have had the same effects as I, being on Armour thyroid. Doesn't matter what dose, the effects have not been good. My nubmers from the blood tests have not changed much. I have increased mine 50% and my test results have not changed. So he has ordered my thyroid meds to be compounded.
Anybody else have similar results since the first of the year? Prior to the first of the year my numbers have gotten better, but then back down. Wondering if Armour has changed something again???

Interesting. I didn't know what it was, so I googled it & found this article, which explains it. Sounds good.(getting rid of the fillers)

Armour thyroid only improves your numbers in the presence of good levels of Ferritin/Iron and good adrenal function. If you have low levels of cortisol, for example, Armour will not help as much. Many people that are hypothyroid also have adrenal stress (low cortisol) and/or low ferritin/iron levels.0

Thank you both,
And I do have low cortisol levels,,, (acoording to my last 2 saliva tests) my doc has put me on 4 different supplements, to try and improve this. I just hope this all helps.0 -
I have been on Armour for about 2 months, maybe a little longer. My labs were normal before my endo switched me from Levo but I HAD taken it that morning and I was still showing symptoms. Anyway, I felt GREAT on the Armour for about 6 weeks and all of a sudden, it's like they stopped working. My hair is falling out faster than it was before and I can barely stay awake during the day. Then at night, I cant go to sleep!!! I go back tomorrow for labs and I wont take my Armour before I go, I'll wait until after. I am interested to see what the results are. I am really concerned about my hair!!! Its starting to look thin and that has never happened before.
What did your Dr. put you on to help with the cortisol levels? I am wondering if I should ask for that test. Do you know what the test is called?0 -
The test is a 24 hour saliva test, for cortisol. that is all I know it by, I have done about 3 times so far. you spit into little tubes 4 times thru out the day. the supplements he has me on now after the low cortisol for the 2nd time are the following: (I will do this test again in 2-3 months.)
ashwaganda, L-Theanine, Phosphatigylserine & DHEA (I apologize for any mis-spelling) I just bought these at lunch today so will see how they work. I will post later about the outcome.
I am also on Bio-Identical hormones which are compounded as well.0 -

I also just started on the Ashwagandah, and also on Guggul this past week. My main problem is the mult-dosing. I always forget to take my afternoon pills (can you say brain fog?). guessing i'll need to use that smart phone of my to keep me smart.0
