What do you use? The one I have here in the house (Body Fortress Super Advanced) has 7g of carbs and no fiber at all. I've never actually used the stuff, preferring to keep my foods all natural, but all this talk of smoothies is making me willing to try one. Can anyone recommend a lower carb one (vanilla).

TIA

optimum nutrition french vanilla cream is good, and I hear syntrax vanilla bean torte is good too. Syntrax is zero carb the nectar line of their's is I am pretty sure. Nature's best iso pure is zero carb as well. VPX has a zero carb line too. But if you dont mind a few carbs then optimum nutrtition is good and about 30 bucks a jug. Which in my opinion is the right price range for good tasting protein. Some of the cheaper proteins are cut with fillers and can take 2-3 scoops versus 1 scoop of a better and slightly more expensive protein. GNC sells samples of different kinds of protein, so you could buy a few to try rather than commit to a whole jug you may not end up liking. Your best bet is just to check out reviews online to see what people say about the taste of various protein powders. Hands down, I prefer atkins ready to drink shakes because they taste good and aren't gonna give that powdery taste you get from powder ones you make in the blender. But those shakes are spendy, and usually I have to buy online to get price I prefer. All you can do is do research and pick one to try. I have only bought 2 protein powders I didn't like, but they had good reviews. It's a gamble, but you can find something to suit your tastes- just remember....they aren't supposed to taste like an unhealthy fast food milkshake! Just good enough to drink.....

I think that Whey Protein Isolate is worth the slightly extra expense (and lower carbs) over Whey Protein Concentrate. WPI mixes more easily and tasts better , imho.

My favoites: Syntrax (lots of yummy flavors), Isopure and 4EverFit Fruit Blast (love the Mango) .

For me, I use "Designer Whey" ... I get a canister of chocolate and french vanilla. Each scoop yields 3g of carbohydrates, 18g of protein and the flavors are UBER YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

I have one every morning Monday through Friday when I wake up because I cant eat solid foods right away or I get sick. So I will use fresh-frozen berries only. In the fall, Ill use fresh baked pumpkin and make a Spiced Pumpkin Smoothie - OHHHHHH SOOO good!

I prefer Silk Light Vanilla Soy milk when I make my smoothies....

Baby, its Food Porn in a cup!!!!!!

I still need to keep it at a reasonable portion, dont get me wrong..

    4oz of pumpkin

    Calories 39 (161 kJ)
    Calories from fat 3
    % Daily Value 1
    Total Fat 0.3g
    Sat. Fat 0.2g
    Cholesterol 0mg
    Sodium 6mg
    Total Carbs. 9.2g
    Dietary Fiber 3.3g
    Sugars 3.7g
    Protein 1.2g
    Calcium 29.5mg
    Potassium 233.6mg

Its only 5.9g of net carbs in that 4oz so I wont add any other fruit to my smoothie. It will be the pumpkin, Designer Whey Vanilla Protein powder, Silk's Light Vanilla Soy milk (instead of vanilla extract), Ill add the traditional pumpkin pie spices to it, and blend the hell out of it.

For a frozen treat, Ill add four ice-cubes..

Its super duper uber thick and damn does this hit the spot for me!!!!!!!

I use nature's best isopure zero carb. 2 scoops has 50g protein and 210 calories. I usually only use 1 scoop at a time.

Got it at Vitamin World for around $49.00.
