The last 10 pounds - is 2 pounds a week too much?

Hi girls!
I'm 18 and wanting to shift the 10 or so pounds sitting on my hips and stomach. The rest of me is quite toned and I have no qualms about those parts, I exercise vigorously 3x a week and take my dog for a walk (on which I plan to start powerwalking) everyday. Myfitnesspal had the option of 1pound, 1.5 or 2 pounds to want to lose per week and I selected 2 - is this beyond ridiculous or could I actually pull it off and keep it off?
On a side note, what do you think the chances are of me having excess skin from the 10 or so pounds when they do leave? I am quite petite under the unwanted flab (5.3) and I am quite worried about it.
Let me know your ideas, I'm new here!
Any tips/experience/advice would be VERY helpful!

Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. The more weight you have to lose the faster you can lose, so if you are morbidly obese you can even lose like 4 lbs a week and not be unhealthy. If you are in the healthy range though, staying with 1 lb per week or less is generally healthier and less stressful on your body (and you emotionally). So if you only have 10 lbs to lose then I would do it at 1 lb a week or slower for sure.
No, I HIGHLY doubt you will have any excess skin from losing ten lbs. The more weight you have lost, the older you are, and speed you lose it in determines this. If you were 30 years older, had 30 more lbs to lose, and were losing it with gastric bypass etc then perhaps, but you will be perfectly fine.
Way to be cautious about this and do it in a smart way! If you have any other questions feel free to message me I will do my best to help!
Good luck on your journey!
And other tips: slow and STEADY (as in, being diligent) wins the race!:flowerforyou:

We don't have much to lose, so 2 pounds is more than likely unrealistic and too much for our bodies at one time. Those last ten pounds are the hardest! But you can do it. I know you say you already exercise pretty vigorously, so you may have plenty of muscle weight as well (which is great! toned is hot). Just eat right, limit your portions, and keep on exercising! You have to be eating enough to account for the amount of exercise you do too, or you won't lose anything....at least not permanently0

2 pounds a week seems too much to me, only because it would really restrict your calories. I'm working on only 6 pounds and it is going painfully slow at .5 pound a week, but it is staying off! I think slower tends to be easier to maintain. Sounds like you have a great start. Keep building those muscles!0

Thank you for that! Its really motivating to know that slow really does work
Goodluck for all of your goals!

I agree with the others! Half a pound a week even would probably be more reasonable. I lost 20 pounds in 2 years and am nearly 30 and that was after giving birth and I'm not too saggy haha.0
