What other exercise is everyone doing during the 30 DS?

I don't think the 30 DS is enough to lose any where near the 20 pounds they suggest you can lose. In the before and after pictures I've seen posted on MFP, the best results were from people doing other exercise too.

I'm trying to do an additional 60 minutes minimum of cardio every day -- brisk walk on the treadmill (4 miles). I jogged 3 miles and walked 2 on Day 1 of the shred, but that was a bit too much, although I might try to get back to that - it sounds like things should get easier now that I'm passed the Day 4 hurdle. I guess I'll see how tomorrow morning goes.

My plan will mostly be 30DS before work and treadmill at night since I can do that while watching some TV. I'm trying for the maximum results I can get in a month with lots of cardio, 30 DS and mostly clean eating around my BMR (not 1200 calories).

Anyone else trying to get some big changes in these 30 days with other activities added in?

I'm doing a challenge here on MFP that had me doing intense cardio/ab work. So I'm working out a balance to do both. Some days I do 30DS and then 30 mins+ intense cardio and 100 crunches or 10 minutes of planks. I'm trying to keep it varied.

Good luck! Can't wait for Sunday's measurements!

I do somewhere between 30-45 mins of zumba and a bunch of other strength exercises too. I'm going more for losing inches/toning up than shedding pounds though.

I'm also doing another challenge her on MFP -- 100 miles in July. That's what my 60 minutes on the treadmill is working toward. That is going to be tough for me to do, but I'm as determined to stick with it as much as with the 30 DS.

I like the idea of doing more abs though. I don't feel like I'm working them at maximum, like my shoulders feel. Maybe my form isn't good.

I am doing Killer Buns and Thighs and walking with Leslie Sanson's 5 Real Big Miles, I usually do between three and five miles. Sometimes, I play DDR as well.

I've been doing my 30DS workout in the morimg and then 30 minutes on my recumbent bike in the evening. Seriously considering adding in Couch to 5K three times a week as well, because I would love to do a 5K someday!

Here is a summary of my workout week :

Monday - Personal Trainer & Walk the dog for an hour and if I feel I can run then I run parts of it with her.. She (the dog) LOVES mixing a walk/run although I think she would run the whole way if my knee would let me. If it's raining I do a JM video and DH gets to walk the dog.

Tuesday - 30DS AND the Burn Fat Boost Metabolism workout if I'm not hitting the gym for 45 mins cardio/20 min HIIT session on the Arc or Elliptical.

    Wednesday - Personal Trainer

    Thursday - Same as Tuesday

    Friday - Personal Trainer

Saturday - 30DS or day off pending on how I feel from the week.

    Sunday - same as Tuesday

I tend to mix up my exercises apart from the Personal Trainer who has me on a different program weekly involving weights/a bit of cardio to spike the heart rate and a bit of core work as cool down prior to stretching. Somedays I will do 2 levels of the 30DS or subsitute it for the 6week six-pack video to intensify the workout.

My favorite saying at the moment is "My planks are broken" as between my PT and JM that is all I seem to be doing!! LOL

JamesterCK - I want so much to run a 5k my sister put that bug in my ear as she has done 2 this year! Unfortunately, I have a knee that isn't allowing me to run at the moment but maybe in time. Good luck if you do the Couch to 5k and let us know how it goes!

I want to run another 5K, possibly in September, so I want to maintain my cardio. I ran my first one in June and my time wasn't terrible (I jogged the whole way without walking), but I'd so love to improve my time. I'm hoping working my legs and core with 30 DS will help me to improve my time.

Daily I do 25 minutes walking, 24 minutes calisthenics, and the 30D daily.

On days when I have access to a pool I throw in any where from an hour to two hours of swimming. I also monitor a daily mini challenge that one of my friends post daily and do them at least 5 days a week.

I do a 30 min./4 mile bike ride in the am with my two year old on the back of the bike and 30 DS at night. Waiting for killer buns and thighs to arrive in the mail, then I'm adding that in too.

p90x and jogging. If you want better results with the Shred you can do it twice a day.

There's no way I can do the Shred twice a day. I have to do something else that doesn't work the same muscles as pushups do.

I'll do 30 DS and then I'll pop in a walking DVD and depending on how worn out I am, I'll do anywhere from 2-5 miles with that, Then I just stretch for a bit.

Hello! I used to do five miles everyday, but since my body has gotten used to it I vary the miles. On Sundays I usually do five miles. On the days when I do not do much exercise I usually do five miles. It does get boring, so sometimes I have to take a break from it and do something else.

I'm just doing the 30 day shred for now- aiming for at least 5 days a week. I have to wait til all my kids are in bed to workout so then I'm limited on time, no gym membership, not going out after dark to walk, etc. I'm interested in those walking dvds- may have to order one. I definitely feel like I could add another 30 mins onto my workouts.
