I was reading Stephanie Meyer's website, and it mentions she is working on a project related to some books by Lois Duncan she read as a teen that scared the crap (my word not hers) out of her. I headed to the library tonight, where they had a number of these books.
I am starting with one that was published in 1974, called Down a Dark Hall. It is under 200 pages, and I am anxious to get started.
I am providing the link to Lois's website, so if anyone is interested, they can check it out.
Happy reading!

Hmmmm....me thinks I'm gonna have to check this out.
Also, don't hit me....but someone at work ALMOST has me convinced to read the Southern Vampire books that inspired True Blood.:huh:0 -
I've heard they are quite different than the true blood series, but still very good, heck they filmed some of breaking Dawn in the same area that they filmed True Blood, so heck, why not read some more vampy goodness! If Stephanie can't produce more books, what choice do we have? :laugh:0

I got 'Down the Dark Hall' written in 1974.
I found it interesting and I enjoyed it. Story line not like anything I have ever read before. I understand why Stephanie would think it was movie worthy.
Headed Back to the library tonight and picked up Summer of Fear (another of Stephanie Meyer's faves) and also grabbed 'They never came home'.
Happy reading!0 -
Someone emailed me the Sookie Stackhouse series in PDF form, that I've put on my nook for when I actually get a chance to read0

I read Lois Duncan's 'Summer of Fear' today. Wow, really liked that one. I cried, I got mad, I got sad, I got happy, I got sceered! All in one book! She includes something of the occult or a scary character in her books.
I read 'they never came back' but it just didn't hold my interest as well.
Need to go back to the library and see what else they have!0 -
I finished reading Stranger with my Face. I really liked this one! Will say it is a fave of what I've read so far of Lois Duncan's books. I Googled and saw where it was turned into a movie, so I am going to have to check it out now.0
