Do you ladies know if we need to stay on metformin when we get pregnant?

    I was told by my Dr that if in my trying we got pregnant they would want me to stay on it for a little bit, it must help in some way to help prevent miscarrages.

    My doctor told me that I could take it while I was pregnant but it didn't seem like I would have to. I only say that because he had to look up what class it was so it doesn't seem like he was planning on me having to take it.

    I stayed on the first trimester for both my pregnancies.

    My doctor told me I would have to stay on the Metformin as well. She said that it really helps to prevent miscarriage. She didn't say why, though... Good luck!

    With PCOS there is a higher risk of miscarriage and metformin is thought to help reduce that risk.
