You should read through the stickies... but a cut is when you're eating at a caloric deficit so as to lose fat. A reset is where you eat at your maintenance calories in order to give your body a break from cutting or dieting.

Cutting is eating at a deficit of your TDEE value..
We recomend a 15% cute from TDEE, although a lot of people go to 10%, or as high as 20%. This gives you a healthy deficit for weight loss and wont convince your body you are starving it:)

Reset is eating at your TDEE level for a period of time, usually 4-12 weeks, where you "maintain" your weight, in order to help your body understand that you are no longer starving it on low calorie diets. Typically if you came from a VLCD previous, your reset should be around 8 weeks, in order to give your body a healing period. If you did not come from a vlc diet, then you can go right to your Cut value. Although we do recommend a "diet break" every so often, which is eating at TDEE for a week or two.

    Hope this helps.
