I have a Polar HRM, i think they are sold worldwide. The chest strap can be a little snug but I still wear it, its not cutting of my air or anything lol

Just wanted to give a cheer to the Original Poster (OP!) Having an HRM took a lot of worry away when I was starting to workout, because I didn't want to overdo it - and I didn't want to underdo it, either. Good step forward!

The chest strap is going to go where the bottom of your bra rests. Measure there holding the tape firmly but not breath-takingly tight. I have a Polar and the Med-XX size BARELY fit me when I measured about 50". It started feeling more comfortable after a couple of months. They have a larger size strap that I've seen on Amazon (up to 70 or 80")

I have a Timex. It was around $50 on Amazon. I have a 44" chest (bra strap, not bust), and I had to tighten it. It's elastic, and I think it would go up to 50" fairly comfortably.
