Hi,
Ok i finally found some Almond butter and apart from dipping my finger in to get an idea of taste i want to do something with it.
Im thinking of using it as a replacement for normal butter when im cooking etc.. but im sure you could come up with something more interesting ??.
Any thoughts ?
Paul

I don't eat almond butter, but I do eat a little peanut butter. The most creative thing I've done with it was adding it to a protein shake, spread on celery, and smeared on top of some cottage cheese/flaxmeal no flour pancakes I made.
Wondering if maybe a little pan sauce to go with some chicken might be good? Worth a try!
Good luck!0 -
I put it on celery or fruit mostly, but you could blend it into a protein shake. I've melted it and dipped grilled chicken strips in it like chicken satay (which would normally use peanuts) -- pretty delish. Its more a sub for peanut butter rather than actual dairy butter, so you'll want to use it as such.0

Throw some into a smoothie, eat on celery or fruit (maybe) or make it into flour-free almond butter cookies with splenda for a low carb treat.
Replace the Sucanet with your low-carb sweetener of choice~

Thanks Ladies, plenty of choices, i never thought about using it as a dip and those cookies sound really good.
Thanks again

It's good on baby carrots or celery. I've also used it as a base to make a pseudo-protein bar - mixed it with ground flax, whey protein, cinnamon and ate with a spoon. Similar to a homemade protein bar recipe, minus the oats.0

I like to have a protein shake for breakfast so here's a favorite recipe that uses almond butter. It's my version of Reese Peanut Butter Cups LOL.
Almond Cocoa Mocha Shake
*Only 2 net carbs*
Ingredients:
1 scoop Kaizen Vanilla Protein (1 carb)
1 Tablespoons Unsweetened Almond Butter (1 carbs)
1 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (0 carbs)
8 oz Cold Brewed Coffee
Ice
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients into a large glass.
Blend well using a hand blender, add ice cubes if you want, and enjoy!
