Disappearing Chicago Dames
Let's do this ladies! Here's the plan: Each month, for 3 months, we will each have a specific goal. You pick your goal. Make sure you choose an "accountable" goal and a "stretch" goal. Meaning, the "accountable" goal is what we will count towards our reward.
For example: January
If we all hit our "accountable" goal, then the first Saturday of the following month, we will reward ourselves. It can be anything, we will just decide together. For example, Saturday, Feb 6, who wants to find a place we can sit and have a cocktail at? We can actually get pretty and be "out" for an afternoon? (Aparna...Michigan plays Michigan State in basketball that day, just sayin').
You may be thinking to yourself, Amanda, 3 months?!? I can't commit to that...well, here are some facts to help support the rationale:
It’s one for all and all for one. If one of us doesn’t meet her month goal, no reward.
So...let's tack on another month to the 66 rule, and see what happens!
After these three months, we can decide how we want to proceed...but let's keep it simple!
If any of us are having a bad day, let’s group text. We are strong, empowering women, and we can boost each other up!
So, what is your goal for January? Add a comment and we can start motivating each other in January!
For example: January
- Amanda's Goal: "Accountable" 4 days a week, 30 minutes minimum workout. "Stretch" 5 days a week, 30 minutes minimum workout. This means, I have to work out for 30 minutes at least 16 times during the month of January.
- You call the shots with your "accountable" and "stretch" goal (as long as I work out at least 16 times during the month of January, my goal is met...but I am going to push hard for 20.)

You may be thinking to yourself, Amanda, 3 months?!? I can't commit to that...well, here are some facts to help support the rationale:
- According to a 2009 study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology, it takes 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit.
- The study also concluded that, on average, it takes 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.
