If PF has it, consider TRX training rather than weight machines. Very time efficient and a much better strength/core workout than machines.

Does "picky" and dieting mean that you have eliminated all the food you like and won't try new things? If so, of course nothing sounds good to you. You need some give on both sides of the equation.

Much of what's left over is likely meat juice. It's false precision.

Hard to argue with "reasonable.". But à broad range of macro splits are reasonable I.e., will sustain good health. For the vast majority of people, " eat a variety of foods" is all the a advice needed -- no reason to track macros.

I've never weighed salad ingredients, except for protein and dressing, in the year that I've been doing this. A large lettuce salad is 45 calories. I'll throw in a couple dozen calories for other vegetables. It's jut not worth the effort to weigh 20 grams of cucumber.

And .......?

Never heard of it in the US. We have rice pudding, but not in a can, and it sounds a little different. If I ever make it to Australia, I'll have to try it.

What's rice cream?

Those other factors can, to a small extent, affect either CI (by increasing appetite) or CO (by decreasing burn), but they don't change the CICO equation. However, it is unlikely that the effect is large enough for you to be eating at an assumed 300-600 / day deficit and not ā actually lose weight over a prolonged period.…

Isn't promoting theft of services against MFP rules?

Many weight loss experts claim that liquid diets causing rapid weight loss tend to over use lean muscle and slow the metabolism, thus, making it even more difficult for weight loss to be maintained. Eventually, liquid diets can lead to the development of muscle cramps, anemia, dizziness, menstrual abnormality, and…

They are not "perfectly safe". They may be medically appropriate, but that doesn't make them perfectly safe.

That's not correct. NEAT includes BMR.

OP: then why did you ask?

Scale don't lie. Start with the higher calorie number. If you are unhappy with your rate of loss after 1 month, try lowering your calories.

What would you do with the information?

The answer to no weight loss is never too eat more or change your macros or add [fill in the blank] to your diet. There are two possibilities: 1. You are stalked for à few weeks for essentially random reasons or 2. You are eating more than you think you are. It is likely 1, so just be patient. If things don't change, go to…

An English muffin has about 120 calories, so your bothering to weigh and adjust meant 6 calories. If you get pleasure from that sort of burdensome precision, that's fine, but it is quite unnecessary for weight loss. To be clear, I use my scale plenty, but not when it is pointless.

assuming that you have a library card, download the Overdrive app. It allows you to download audiobooks from 100s of libraries.

You can do a poor man's sous vide with frozen shrink wrapped fish (e.g. Costco salmon) by tossing the pouch into water at a very slow simmer. Ii think it is much better than baking or broiling.

MFP distinguishes between activity that are part of your daily life and exercise. If your job involves running up and down stairs, you reflect that in your activity level. If you run up and down stairs after work for the health benefits, that's recorded as exercise. Obviously there are other ways to capture the…

There are no secrets. Ultimately it comes down to discipline. However, for me the key was recognizing the difference between not hungry and full. If I was careful about how I spent my calories, I could eat at a large deficit without being hungry. But I couldn't eat until I was full and maintain a deficit. If you're eating…

It's a great way to start out. I never finished it because once I learned that I could run a reasonable distance, I just started running without worrying about following the program. A year ago, I couldn't run 100 yards. I now do 5Ks and am aiming for a 10K (doing about 8K now). Being able to run, and enjoying it,…

You can simplify it more: Eat a reasonable variety of food types and don't worry about your macros. Unless you have very specific goals or needs, you can be perfectly healthy at 30% carbs or 60%.

You are making this too hard. Eat what MFP recommends plus 1/2 your exercise calories. Track your calories accurately using a digital scales. That's all there is to it.

You've gained 8 inches and only 17 pounds? So every 2 pounds you had to buy new pants? Odd, at best.
