  • I was tooling around on the interwebz yesterday to see what it had to say about rows and I found this. It addressed something else I had been considering. Now that I am on my own and will only have a spotter if some kind hearted soul takes pity on me, I have been thinking that increasing sets/reps if ut feels really heavy…
  • My left bicep is weaker than my right. I notice it on bench and rows. The trainer had me doing bench press with Dumbbells and also flies. I would think most dumbbell work would help balance the muscles. I was wondering myself if one should do more sets/reps on the weaker side until they are more balanced.
  • Thanks Ladies! @ Krokador - It's legit. I only give out it to register for sites/forums etc. so I don't spam up my regular email.
  • I understand and feel the same way. I get the "life begins at (some future weight/time)". I do this a lot then I feel guilty for missing the "now". I don't really think I have any tricks or tips since I am very impatient as well. My body ( body image) actually seems worse now that my muscles are firmer and things are…
  • @ Crabada -my screen name change seems to have finally updated. Whoo hoo! Thanks for the reply and for the article. Interesting point about the variations in skeletal structure.
  • @ MissHolidayGolightly: thank you. I was DL 135 with my trainer using the 45s so I think I will just stay at 135 since it's what I am used to, but not increase for a few sessions and see how it goes. I was pulling from the floor with 65 on the rows. Next time I'll stack some plates or use the corner of the short box that…
  • Thanks for this! I hadn't even thought of any specific goals for this month until I started reading this thread. 1) Keep the M/W/F SL schedule and not miss any workouts. 2) log my food every day 3) I don't want to give myself a weight goal this month, but I would like to continue to see the inches drop and I would be happy…
  • Thanks! I asked my trainer about them at some point and he said they didn't have them. I haven't seen anything that looks like that, though I can see how it might not be obvious to the casual observer what it is. Is the right height where you can pick up the bar while parallel to the ground?
  • First day of SL. First time in the weight room without someone to hold my hand. So, the biggest win was making myself go in and do it. Second was the baby not freaking out in daycare so I could get the whole workout in. So, per SL W1D1/A 5X45 bench 5X65 rows 5XB/W squats. Previously, the trainer had me benching 85, so the…
  • Thanks! @ Crabada. I started with the trainer about 4 weeks ago, twice a week for an hour. I gained about 5 pounds, but lost 3 inches of my waist, 1 off my hips, 1iff my tush, and 2 off my bra band. I'll take that deal!
  • And ugh! I changed my screen name from my email but the site isn't showing the change (at least to me). It should be "Southerdaisy4".
