I am out this week sick but have been scouring the internet for squat form videos and articles and one thing that stands out for me is that I have very long thighs relative to the rest of my body. When I am over this cold and can get back in the gym I am going to try some of the suggestions they make like squatting with a…

And welcome!

I am not doing any yet, but the ones I liked when my trainer had me for an hour were bench/bb curl supersets, squat/goblet squats supersets, DB press after the bench, lat pull downs, and back hyper extension on the stand/machine (love those).

Rereading my post, I typed % instead of #. They are next to each other on my tiny iPhone screen. If that is what you are referring to I meant 2.5# fractional plates, not 2.5% fractional plates -which isn't a real thing as far as I know. If so, sorry for the confusion. Or maybe I misundestood your post. I thought you were…

I think we are saying the same thing, that you did it correctly. You added 5 # total using the incremental plates and next time you would just use the 5 # plates to add 10 pounds total, then after that you add the incrementald back in but keep the 5 # plates to add 15# total. That's 45 ( bar only), 50, 55, 60.

Welcome to you too!

W1/D3 w/o A 5X5 @45 swat. Shallow, ugly and hard but I got them done. 5X5 @ 50 bench 5X5 @ 70 rows The bench and rows were pretty easy.
-
Well I used them. It was really easy, but I focused on form.
-
You did it right. Next time you use the 5# plates, then the next time after that the 5# plus the 2.5 % fractionals.

I love the simplicity. I stayed away from lifting because I was under the impression that it was pretty much all isolation work. That can get complicated and time consuming fast. The idea that I can learn 5 lifts and do them 3 times a week for 30 - 45 mins and add a few things here or there as I see fit really speaks to…

Adding them to other plates doesn't strike me as funny at all... Just when you *only* have them. It's more I am going to have to look up at them on the bench and try to keep a straight face. LOL. I @ Nancy If people glue the big washers from Home Depot together to get (I think) 2 lbs and some change, you could surely just…

My favorite Elf meme was the little girl who set the house on fire (not really) to stop the elf. Her expression is priceless.

thanks ladies. ;)

I meant the first time you added weight to the bar :) I used the nekkid bar last Monday, but I am just trying to picture those tiny plates on there. I know I will be very grateful for them in the very near future, but 45 wasn't hard and I was considering jumping.

And you're absolutely sure that one's a cat? j/k... But I did go a double take.

@ Threnjen -nice job - I see no reason to be sad! So.. If the DL @ a certain weight doesnt wipe you out it's " OK" to do more? I would have liked to do more on my B day but was unsure of varying from the program. Is it better to add reps or do another set or is it 6's? I am intrigued by "Good Mornings" I haven't seen…

That was @ Sing - I tried to quote C with the suggestion that you don't deload. I am not sure what happened with that quote.

Currently in Brooks running shoes but I am planning on getting some Chuck Taylors. I think the cushion throws of my balance, which is iffy to begin with.

Happy birthday(s) Ladies. @ Threnjen LOL @ "throwing yourself at it like a lost lover". My relationship with it is more of a stalker... All furtive glances and wistful stares... I actually did get in there today though, but for OHP not squats. Today was W1D2/B and is defintely my favorite. Squats,5X B/W again while I work…
