Decided to join this thread instead of just lurking :) I'm currently in my second bulk. Up about 5 pounds in 14 weeks so far - deliberately going slower than my first time. Lifts going up steadily too. It's really motivating following everyone's progress!

Before is March 2015 at about 140lbs (I'm 5'8"), after is just yesterday at 128lbs and having been eating at maintenance since June. Start lifting today, you won't regret it! It is scary at first but you gain confidence with time. I wish I had started earlier.

Thanks so much everyone for your responses and advice. I think I will continue to eat at maintenance with my normal activity level and see where my weight is in a couple of weeks or so. It was definitely a one off splurge so hopefully my body will regulate itself but I'll reassess in a fortnight. Thanks again :smile:

Thank you so much to all of you for your useful advice! Totally agree that 4 months isn't long enough to see any great results whichever way I proceed. I think a recomp would indeed be most beneficial for me right now, and I probably need to build a better strength base to start a bulk anyway. I'm definitely in this for…
