Was feeling like I hadn't been doing enough over Christmas, but just did the math; 391 days = 56 weeks. 97lbs lost = 1.73lbs per week. Was aiming for 2lbs per week, but with an overseas trip plus blowout over Christmas, looks like I was pretty much on target. Trust the math!

Two recent ones:- 1. Fitting in to a pair of jeans for the first time in about ten years! 2. Going to the supermarket and having a staff member I've never spoken to come up and tell me she's been watching my progress. She was in tears and wanted to know what I'd been doing. Saw her again three weeks later when she very…

Apologies for the language in this, but i just saw it, thought of this thread, and had to share.

Started at MFP last January, had a ten day overseas holiday in June where I ate anything and everything I wanted, and went off the rails over Christmas. Neither of those undid the 95lbs I have lost so far. They just delayed getting to goal by a few weeks. That's it. The important thing is to not let those rare times become…

Unless you are on a medically supervised plan, do not eat less than 1200 calories per day.

Hey Christine - the other packaging is what we have on the right side of the Tasman

1. MFP (both the food logging to be accountable, and the "mean" people for telling it like it is)) 2. Foodscale 3. Fitbit This fabulous trifecta has helped me lose 95lbs in the past year, and I know will be instrumental in getting me the rest of the way!

So long as you don't have any medical conditions that are exacerbated by a high carb intake, there is no reason, beyond choice, for restricting carbs. At the end of the day, weight loss is about taking in fewer calories than what you expend. I have tried Keto, but at the time wasn't watching my calorie intake, so achieved…

Started a year ago at 366, now 273. Still a long way to go, but MFP has helped make it easy. Anyone is welcome to add me.

Oh, yeah, I realise that. I was rambling away from what my point was supposed to be, that time-frame should be a major secondary consideration to getting healthy. Every pound lost is massive, regardless of how long it takes. Sorry I got too wordy and off the point  been a long time since I posted anything, I got…

This time last year I weighed 366lbs, currently 273. So have lost 93lbs in a year. Could have been over 100 if we hadn't had an overseas holiday, and if I hadn't gone off the rails a tad over Christmas. But at the end of the day, how long it takes doesn't matter. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, or more. Every pound lost brings…

Wish I could take the credit for the protein cookies, but alas, I'm too lazy for that. Locally made ones, http://www.justines.co.nz/ not sure if available outside of NZ, but they've been my saviour this year for when I've run out of time to pack a decent lunch (read: everyday). Right now I think my biggest problem is…

Had to buy smaller shoes, and definitely feeling colder this winter (southern hemi). But the most unusual one so far was that I have had vertigo for years, second step on the step ladder has always had me panicking that I would fall off but hung some curtains last weekend and felt completely comfortable higher than what I…

There are a few people around MFP that I always listen to, and NDJ is one of them. Don't over-complicate this, it really can be as easy as those 8 points. I have followed them, and gone from 366lbs in January, to 294lbs this morning.

Clearly, you've never met my kid. She would, and has cried over not getting enough butter! Give her a choice between a good steak and a lollipop, steak will win every time.

I know this is a zombie thread, but thought I'd put in my $0.02 anyway. I recently went on vacation and due to timezone confusion, missed logging in one day, breaking my 185 day streak. Pouted for a few minutes before deciding to use it as motivation. i.e. I wont be happy now until I've bettered that.

*shrugs* Just always used calories, and I'm set in my ways now  asking me to change to kj would be like changing all the road signs to miles!
-
Kiwi here, and yes, this is one of my pet peeves. Having to calculate kj to kcal before working out if it's worth eating.

So jealous of all of you (but happy for you too). I've just made 299 (down from 366), so happily in the 200's now, but onederland still seems like a pipe dream.

*Monday afternoon in good old New Zealand, if we're splitting hairs. Not a "whilst person", just enjoy taking the piss.

Seriously?

Well I just came here looking for some detox/cleanse advice that will help me whilst I am on my weight loose journey. I weighted myself this morning, not good.
-
Incorrect spelling tends to wind me up more. Just saying.
-
Does it really wind you up enough to make a thread about it?

I am currently 303lbs, down from 366lbs in January. Macros are set to 35/35/30 - so my carbs are around 136grams per day. To be honest, I don't really track my macros, just stay under my calories each day. There is always hot chocolate and ice cream on the menu. I'm losing on average around 3lbs per week. Not knocking…

Sooo, can you eat these potatoes?

How have potatoes been stripped of their nutrients?

I got sucked in to be a seller of Herbalife products some years ago. They're snake-oil, nothing more. If any of these types of "supplements" worked, they wouldn't need a pyramid scheme to sell them, and the world wouldn't be having an obesity crisis. The day someone manages to make a magic pill, shake, supplement etc, it…

Co-signing pretty much all of the above. I've been here since January, and while I'm only 1/3 of my way to goal, there is no way I would have lost the 62lbs I have so far without the people on my friend list, and the no-nonsense straight talkers on the forums. For me, off the top of my head, the posters that while I may…
