Noooo. 20g of butter in a hot pan, add a clove of crushed garlic, then a couple of chicken thighs, turn them a couple of times right away to get that fatty, garlicky goodness all over. Then turn the element right down low, put a lid on, and come back 25 minutes later. Take your beautifully cooked chicken out of the pan and…

Agreed. If this happened to me there is no way I would still be on Keto. Thankfully I’m finding the opposite. Lost my sweet tooth but properly cooked meat is like nectar.

I would probably let it play out for a little bit longer. When I first started Keto I spent a week or two struggling to eat more than 800 calories per day. Got some advice from the Keto group to not panic and give it a bit more time. I’m now averaging about 1,400 calories per day so my appetite did come back albeit much…

Couple of groups that you may benefit from joining. Look for “Keto” and “Low Carber Daily Forum”.

Keto is not a magical fix-all diet. As has already been stated, for weight loss you need to be in a calorie deficit, and you can achieve that simply by tracking what you are eating accurately no matter which way of eating you choose. Again, as has been stated above, Keto can be helpful for people with certain medical…

So don’t cut any out. Just eat what you like, within a calorie deficit, and you will lose weight. The only real reason to restrict yourself from eating any type of food is medical. Sometimes you might find that eating more or less of a particular food group helps with satiety or avoiding cravings, but that’s a personal…

My latest one is Powerade zero. I was drinking that a lot in my first week or so, but now it’s like sugar water.

Squirting whipped cream directly in to your mouth from the can is no longer uncouth, but is now a quick, healthy dessert

Thanks everyone. I’ll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

Purse salt, car salt, and desk salt.

Thanks. And trust me, I am the Aioli Queen. Very little gets cooked in my house without it :)
-
Yeah. I’ll stop worrying and just take it day by day. The calories are right at 1,900. That’s what happens when you let yourself get to 380
-
That’s a point. I’d forgotten about nuts  I’ve never been able to do IF before, but it may end up working out that way with Keto. Wish I’d tried this sooner, had no idea how easy it would be. No cravings, no feeling restricted. Awesome.

Ooooh. That sounds tasty. Will have to give it a try.

I bought Avalanche sugar free hot chocolate powder, don’t know if it’s sold outside of NZ. It’s sweetened with Stevia. Then I add 1TBS of coconut oil and 1TBS of cream. Whizz it up with the stick mixer. So good.

Hey everyone. Thanks for your responses, I really appreciate them. I've done a lot of thinking, and I just have to freaking do it. No excuses, no weakness. I am NOT going back.

All diets work by using CICO. They may just use different terms, foods, or quantities, but the goal of all of them is to get your caloric intake to be less than how much you're burning. A healthy diet includes fat. It's an essential nutrient for all of us. Most people who count calories without doing so under the umbrella…

Wow! You performed at an absolute genius level on this test -- that is the highest possible score that anyone can achieve. You're in the top 1% ranking! YAY! Not bad for a high school drop-out.

Use the USDA website to find the calories in each ingredient https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods i.e. taro and cassava are both in there, and then add oils, spices etc. You may just have to think like a westerner to find some things  Cooking in hangi etc doesn't add any additional calories than cooking in an oven,…

Does that honestly make logical sense to you? If it does, how do you explain people that die of starvation?
-
I stay away from bread and pasta, but that's only because of the high-calorie stuff I tend to put with them  toast just isn't right without a butt-load of butter/peanut butter etc, and one slice just is not enough, and pasta needs a creamy carbonara or cheesy alfredo sauce (in my mind). I do have them occasionally,…

Hi all! Jordis from New Zealand checking in! Have posted my starting weight which is up a tad (silly Easter), but been on a roll for the last year so should be a one off  Weigh in day is Thursday (NZ time, so Wednesday for all you silly people living in the past).

I ate ALL the things! Feeling like crap now. Can't believe I used to eat like that all the time, no wonder I was 366lbs and never wanted to do anything. Firmly back on the wagon now, hanging out for a big pile of veggies for lunch.
