How do you gain weight if you're not eating enough? Does that really make sense to you?
-
I'm going to go slightly against the grain here, I've lost 53lbs so far this year while on a Seroquel and Paxil cocktail. Still, I've always thought I was a special snowflake
-
Day 119, have lost 53lbs. 159(ish) to go  doing pretty damn good.

I want the weight gone a lot more than I want the extra calories. Being a healthy weight > a bag of doritos.

There are groups for those who are/started in the 300's if you want to restrict yourself to just their support. However, as someone who started at 366lbs, I can tell you that the support and motivation from MFP users at all stages of their journey has been invaluable to me. Without seeing their successes, and tapping in to…

Op, you might not like what she has to say, but Rabbit knows what she's talking about. Reading the advice that she, and others, have given to many, many, posters such as yourself has been what has given me the knowledge to lose 50lbs in the last four months. First step is honestly to forget everything you have ever…

Just pulled four tops, a dress, and a pair of PJs out of my too small drawer and put them in to the closet as they all fit...... for now. Hoping to make them too big in the not too distant future

Hiya - I've just hit the 50lb mark and still can't see it myself. HOWEVER, clothes are looser, it's easier to do things i.e. tie shoe laces, and people who haven't seen me for a while are noticing. Unfortunately, the heavier you are, the longer it does take for the changes to be really visible, particularly to yourself. We…

Wouldn't be the first time a thread of mine crashes and burns - apparently my opinion conflicting with others is a flaggable offense *shrugs* Pleased some of you like it though
-
Oh thank God. Was about to have a hissy fit :p

Dude. Did you just call me an Australian?????

My favourite cafe here in New Plymouth does a four shot extra large. Was in heaven the day I realised
-
I always have non-fat cappuccinos, regardless if it's Starbucks, some other cafe, or at home. Easy to fit in about 100 odd calories a day

I'm sorry, Christine. But this was all I could think of....

Where's the damn "Like" button? You know, I might just be persuaded to pay for MFP if we get one.
-
I stated "the average person IN THIS GROUP" i.e. would the average MFPer be offended by the term "cutting". The answer to that is clearly NO. In all other human interaction the question Party B needs to ask themselves is "if I'm the only person here offended by this, then is my offense really warranted. Or am I taking…

There may be some occasions where this is the case, but there are also a butt-ton of special snowflakes who get "triggered" by ridiculous things. i.e. feminist who think the term "women" is degrading to the female sex because it has "men" in it. If I run across one of those, no way in hell is it my problem if they're…

At the office now, and apparently "clean eating" is the go-to topic today. Made a smart-*kitten* comment about washing food before consumption and exited stage-left back to my desk.

So much bro-science in our office. In the last week I've heard:- * not eating carbs after midday (two doing this one) * Garcinia Cambogia..... enough said * Detoxing... oy * Gluten-free...for weight loss Plus multiple instances of people who "just can't lose weight". While stuffing their faces at morning coffee shouts.…

Hi Op. I started here at 366lbs in January, have been eating around the 1700 mark, and am now 319lbs. If I wasn't weighing myself regularly, I would have given up months ago as I have only just gone down a dress size. I would encourage you to get on that scale, chances are you have lost, and that will likely motivate you…

MFP, food scale, Lifetrak. My golden trifecta

Nope. Because context.

Most supermarkets here in NZ have half their checkouts stocking candy, and half that stock healthier stuff like nuts, protein bars etc. I always make sure we head for one of those.
-
I wish it was. But nope, that is our premier newspaper/news site. I. Just. Nope.

Yep. I'm on quetiapine and aropax for anxiety and have lost 40-oddlbs so far this year (too lazy to check actual number).

It's a tribal style dragon which to me symbolises having more powerful breath since I gave up smoking. That was three years ago (hence the 2012). I just decided to use it as my 20kg reward so that it would be extra important to me.

Got it today

Good for you for eating at a reasonable level and not aiming for silly weight loss rates. Just had a quick nosy at your diary, and just a little bit of advice, but I would tighten up your logging a bit. Cups/pieces/slices etc are a very inaccurate way of measuring. If you can, buy yourself some digital kitchen scales and…

I'm on seroquel, aropax, and occasionally clonazepam. Have lost 45lbs so far since January.

3.5lbs per week? You would need to create a calorie deficit of 1,750 per day! That's very aggressive, and not something you are likely to be able to do. Just eat at a reasonable deficit, and be happy with a smaller loss. I'm assuming this wedding isn't a last minute affair???
