  • Hey Michael, I think all of us as parents get completely overwhelmed sometimes. I've been feeling run down and my fat pants are suddenly skinny pants so had to say okay it's time to put me first for a minute. My kiddos will be fine and I'll teach them (hopefully) that caring for themselves will make them better friends,…
  • My latest and greatest is despite my higher calories I've hit mass hair loss stage. It's so gross! I also stopped losing so I'm trying so hard to get down to 1000 cal days but I love food and won't eat stuff that doesn't taste good to me. Unfortunately what taste good aint fish and broccoli! I need to find another way.
  • For me month 4.5 - 5. It came out of nowhere and is disgusting how gobs of hair are everywhere!
  • I've always felt hungry post op and acid reducing rx from doc didn't help. I eat 1100 - 1400 at 6 months but my doc wants me at 800. I'm just way too hungry for that low of calories.
  • I took the acid reducer and it didn't do jack to my hunger. My nut said not everyone gets that magic of no hunger for six months. I was hungry from 2 weeks out. I never used to eat after dinner now I get ravenous before bed. It's quite annoying really.
  • I've only lost 40 lbs in 6 months so it hasn't been fast for me either. I'll stall for weeks at a time. Part of my problem is not making the food changes I need. I still like all the same foods and the thought of eating fish grosses me out and its hard to find premade stuff that is on plan and tastes good. I need to learn…
  • Congrats to you!!! :D How amazing to have come so far in one year! I am down from a 22 to a tight 16 or lose 18 and I can't imagine being in a size 8. That seems like a dream! Way to go! Take out some old pics and look at how far you've come! Did you think you'd be here one year ago? Imagine where you'll be in another year!
  • I think it's hard for us to figure out what works for us because we look to other people and try what they try and then think of ourselves as failure is when it doesn't work for us. I'm finding what works for me. I'm also band to sleeve and per my doc it's common for us to not have the same success as a virgin sleeve.…
  • Wow ya'll are super losers next to me! I'm at 3.75 months and 37 lbs. I started with 110lb total to lose. But I do eat pretty much whatever I want so have not been the ideal follower of the plan.
  • Wow zow... looking good!
  • I was told NEVER again on popcorn but alas I couldn't follow thru. @ 3 months and had lettuce today. Cashews last week and popcorn on rare nights at the theatre. So far no issues.
  • You look fantastic!
  • you will know you're in ketosis by your breath. It will just think and mint will be your best friend. I do use the ketostix and mine are consistently showing moderate ketones present. My doctor is not only on board but encouraging this diet and so is my nutritionist. I am eating between 40 to 60 carbs daily and the first…
  • I eat between 40 and 60 carbs a day and my ketostix always show moderate ketones. That's the third from the highest amount of ketones. I probably am losing 2 to 3 pounds a week
  • so don't eat it? I missed where fruit is vital for our survival. I'd be more concerned if instead of fruit you're eating other sugars.
  • Chicken or steak fajitas, no rice and no tortillas.
  • You all look amazing. Thanks for sharing. What an inspiration.
  • I bought ketostix and use those to measure whether I'm still excreting ketones or not. I also lost about 16 pounds and then nothing for two weeks and suddenly it started back up again. Try and hang in there and best of luck!
  • One more thought is you mentioned you do not want to do low carb or ketogenic but drinking coke and eating bread which both convert to sugar and fat in your body isn't the answer either. If you're not interested in low carb what about something like the whole 30 which allows you to eat Whole Foods? I would recommend not…
  • I just changed my goals to reflect those of a ketogenic diet. 5% carbs, 45 percent protein and 50% fat. I would swap out the oatmeal for a low carb high protein choice. Get rid of the bread and the coke and replace with lemon water. everything else on there looked OK.
