Hi everyone. Not sure of this group is active. I use MFP regularly and was hoping to connect with some local folks.

I can relate - I have lost and gained and lost and gained. Food is my emotional outlet too - often times when I don't even realize I am upset or stressed. I am back on MFP trying to get back on track and in a healthy routine. Feel free to add me - especially if you are in the same boat as me currently :)

Same here!

Me too - add me!

Hey Heather. Seems we have a bit in common. I'm 41 and live in Sound Beach. We are not terribly close to each other but maybe we can try to set up a regular walking date. I may know some other gals who would want to join us. Let me know if you are still interested. :)

Hey y'all! I am getting back at here on MFP. Could totally use positive peeps and support - and love giving support too! Hope to see you on my list. :)
-
Hey y'all! I certainly could use some new friends to chat with and swap motivations/tips. Add me if you like! xoxo Deirdre

I've been there too. Having support and connections and making it fun I think is important.

I think it's incredibly important and helpful, for me at least, to make real connections with like minded folks on MFP. It helps motivate me, keeps me honest and give me a reason to look forward to logging in - because honestly I am not all WOO HOO time to log my food. haha

What an amazing journey. Thanks for sharing your methods and your progress. Congrats on all your hard work!

this is GREAT advice... thank you!! xoxo

There is a whole questionnaire - how much you plan to exercise, how much you want to lose. how old you are - how much you currently weigh - etc. Then it asks for your current activity level - sedentary, active - etc. and It comes up with a calories per day. So if I had time (and desire haha) to workout 2 hours a day every…

On the days I sit for like 12 hours yes. On the weekends - when I hike for 3-4 hours I would be definitely eating more. :)
-
Good idea. I was getting worried about CARBS CARBS. But for now I think you are right calories and overall healthy choices. Thanks ! :)

I will have to check out that book. His name sounds familiar. I think he has a blog on Tumblr too?

thanks so much Sue!!! Great advice!

Let's keep it positive and happy folks. :) It's just weight loss. hehehe. I am losing right now - but thanks RGv2. Once I get stuck I will alter it if needed.

A little bit of walking during the work day but mostly I sit at a desk for about 12 hours a day. Sometimes for hours at a clip. I have to squeeze in time before work and after work to exercise. I also try to walk at lunch whenever possible. But - it's a LOT of sitting (and stress! lol).

I think MFP tells everyone to eat 1200 a day. It told me the same. I personally manually lowered mine to 1,000 (which it has been giving me "warning" messages about - I sit ALL day - I personally know I don't need 1200 calories). Anyhoo - I think their idea is 1200 is the minimum healthy amount to eat - and they expect you…

Deirdre: I currently have about 29lbs to lose Did you stay within your nutritional goals? Yes Did I reach yesterday's personal goal? Yes What did I do yesterday that I am proud of? Tracked everything, kept busy, planned my meals ahead of time What would I have done differently? AM cardio - when I do it I am much better off…
