  • That's awesome Francl - MFP was very hard on me when I started. I have a desk job, but workout 6 days a week, and wanting to lose 1lb/week it told me to eat 1230. Then as the weight came off and I went in to update the goal or play around with the weekly goal, the daily calories would decrease. It sucked! I was able to do…
  • Younger self: Do not quit the cross country/track teams because your "friends" aren't a part of them - they aren't a part of them for a reason... mainly because they're going nowhere in life. And go to the soccer tryouts that you were terrified to go to. One more thing: you were *never* fat, stop being so damn hard on…
  • Does anyone have any updates? For me, after spending 6 weeks or so stuck at 144/145/146, I decreased by goal changing it to 0.5lb/week, and last week I was at 143!! I'm kind of excited about that! The extra calorie wiggle room I get with decreasing the weight goal has made me happy, too. Some days I can stick around the…
  • Here's the scale the last few weeks: Jan 23 - 146.8 Jan 30 - 145.6 Feb 7 - 146.2 Feb 13 - 144.6 Feb 20 - 145.6 Being that it's been a solid 4 weeks of not finding traction, I will try not eating back the exercise calories. Thanks for your help!! =)
  • I am in the same boat - lost 18 pounds in 24 weeks, now I'm bobbing up and down with one/two pounds. SW: 162, CW: 145. I'm feeling frustrated, and after reading everything here, I am torn between eating back less of my workout calories, or going into Maintenance and staying below the daily calorie goal.
  • I'm the same as most here: 5'4", CW 145. MFP tells me to eat 1210 calories/day to lose 1 lb/week with a sedentary activity level. I have it set for 6 workouts a week, but Mon/Wed/Fri I usually do two-a-days (the first being a 35 minute walk on the Tmill, then BBG). I have found that I like to eat back my workout calories,…
  • Tried on some jeans over the weekend that I used to wear bar hopping a few years ago, and they fit *really* well. I can add these 3 pair back into my "good" pile, and take the bigger pairs (that lately I need to wear a belt with), out!
  • I love my Polar FT7. The batteries have lasted a long time, and while it doesn't sync with MFP, I add my workouts in afterwards.
  • Re: Guessing would be as dumb as leaving it off: After doing this a while, I typically know *about* how many calories are in things. If I went to a restaurant and got the lasagna? Then I go to "Add Food", search lasagna, look at the first few choices, and see which one is likely what I ate. My brain won't let me leave it…
  • Eastern Canadian here: I find we say it a lot, and typically at the end of a sentence. It tends to lighten statements, and leave it jokey and happy. Clearly, your friend is sensitive about the pizza and beer :)
  • I only wear men's shorts to workout, and they all have underwear in them. They are long enough to not show my underthings to everyone from different machines I use, and they also help with thigh rubbing.
