  • I have been on MFP since August 2014, and this is the first time I've seen this post. And I absolutely needed this today.
  • @shaumom - yes, you are right on the nose! After the 6 month mark, baby is likely eating more and more food, therefore taking less breastmilk. I know by the time I returned to work when mine was 1 year old, we were only feeding at 'Bed' and 'Breakfast'. Our bodies do amazing things. I love your explanation!
  • Starting in August 2014 I lost 21 pounds in 8 months, the next 4 pounds took 5 months! Then pregnant very close to goal weight, had a long breastfeeding journey and lost the majority of the babyweight and tried losing the last 17 pounds in June 2017, 14 pounds took a full year and was 3 away from pre-baby weight. Sooo…
  • I'm curious to see where you're at in your journey now!
  • Congratulations on reaching maintenance!! I'm guessing by "small scale" you mean it was really small! Part of my process for my scale came along with us purposely switching to using the smaller plates in our set. I put the plate on the scale, turn it on (it's already zeroed), put potatoes on the plate and try to hit 100 or…
  • I get the mindset of the OP - not the 900-1,000 calories though, that is dangerous. It was my birthday weekend last weekend, and when people asked me how it was, I said "Great, I ate whatever I wanted", and that scared me a little, because I should always be eating whatever I want... I get it OP.
  • I have used pictures of where I took the measurement, and in some spots - bicep, waist and calf, I use a freckle! Then I know I have the same spot everytime! :D
  • This was great to read today. Thank you for the link!
  • I have taken the time to read your journey beginning to end. I think a change in perspective is what will change the situation for you, because you have the knowledge, and the skills with the CBT and mindfulness training you have AustinRuadhain sharing the quote from your client resonates with your post directly above it:…
  • I usually stand, bend and plant hands, thrust feet back fully extending, then fling feet back towards my hands, crouch, then do a big jump reaching as high as I can. So, no pushup involved in the ones I do. Also reluctantly - and not as often as I probably should. :D
  • Can I ask why Accutane is still ruining your life? I first saw a Dermatologist at a very young age for acne, I was under 10. I have tried all the meds, all the creams, and all the lotions, all sometimes twice. I've been on Accutane twice. Now at 35 I only really breakout at my TOM or when really stressed, which makes sense…

  • Beginner here, just since January, really. I have been a co-worker's guinea pig once a week as she is working towards becoming a teacher and needs hours. I always used to scoff at it, and now I really enjoy it. I am almost always breathing the opposite of what I should be for each move, but that seems like a sign I'm doing…
  • We are the same height, almost same starting weight (162), and same goal of starting trying for our second in the next few months - and I have the same question! LOL. I am currently 141 pounds, 4 pounds over where I started when I got pregnant with my first, and I also gained too much - 48 pounds! I blame the ice cream,…
  • I breastfed my little one for 15 months - we were down to bedtime feedings only and she suddenly seemed disinterested. I was 15 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight, and was so tired from everything and needed a break so I did nothing for another 3 months. Then I started working out, and then finally starting logging…
  • Any update?
  • I was just asked on Monday by two co-workers what I've been doing, that I look great. I said I've been eating less and moving more, waking up at 6am because I need to make time for me. That this is the only body I've been given and I need to feel comfortable. That MFP helps me keep on top of things. I feel like even…
  • My current goal is be back to pre-baby weight, and I am 5 lbs away from it. Babe will be 2 years old in less than 2 weeks, so the clock is ticking! Hahaha. I used to be 10 lbs from current for a long time, so ideally I will hit that point sometime again. Getting back to logging, and really focusing on increasing my protein…
  • Thank you all! Took a week off from logging, but will get back at it and make a concerted effort to pack in more protein. Not opposed to supplementing at all, actually having a shake now!
  • Currently 145, 5'4".
  • I would love to hear your take on protein intake. I was recently told by a Gastroenterologist that my constant hunger, even at night, doesn't require a scope or further bloodwork (which I guess I should be thankful for), and instead I should try increasing my protein intake. Here I was strangely hoping for an ulcer. I…
  • I was told to increase my protein recently too, as i don't feel satiated very long. I'm an ovo-vegetarian as well (who knew there were so many!), and average about 50g per day. Going to increase nuts and shakes and hope to hit a higher amount each day!
  • I gained 47lbs with my daughter (went up to 185), and loss all but 15lbs within 6 weeks post-partum. Stayed that weight for a year because I couldn't workout (sore hip) and I was still breastfeeding, and I really honestly didn't have the energy. It wasn't until I was done breastfeeding her at 15.5 months old that I…
  • Same boat, just a few to go, and I can almost TASTE the finish line! LOL I ran the numbers for mid-range of the BMI for my height, and that seems like a lot for me to lose! I can pack on muscle, so I have found as I get closer to the goal, the goal is shifting. If I get within 5lbs and feel great, I'll switch to…
  • Another self-confessed night owl here, and a big fan of sleeping in. It helped me to think that if I wake up at 6 and do my workout at home, I will only be losing out on those 20 minutes of sleep. That thought has made all the difference and it gives an accomplishment for the entire day!
  • I met my goal weight using MFP before I got pregnant, and tracked throughout my pregnancy to make sure I was hitting my protein and other nutrients. But once the baby came and I was breastfeeding 6 - 10 times a day, I honestly just ate what I wanted. And I didn't have time to log my food. My supply was great throughout and…
  • You *will* see results, just stick with it.
  • Yes, it can be done. I have lost weight at home, you just have to find something that works for you, and stay committed to it on a regular basis - Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Also, MFP helped a lot, too.
  • I have done Kayla's workouts and did really well - the combo of the workouts plus MFP helped me lose 26 pounds! That took about a year, and I started off with 1,200 calories/day. I followed the workout plan and walked on the off days, and I definitely gave myself some breaks on the off days, too. I didn't use the meal plan…
  • Same as well. The anxiety was too much for me, I felt the need to get on the website, so I think this planned break from logging food will help. I've had 90 day streaks once or twice, but due to being out later than planned, I lost it. They don't give gold medals those streaks, do they? So today I just came on to…
  • Excellent info - I was not prompted, but like OP was in playing with goals. I wish ^this^ was information given for newbies. Thanks!
