@PlaneMonkey Thanks a lot Courtney - just the good example I need! the scale too.

Sylvia,52, here in Massachusetts. Most of my life spent overweight with dips into healthy weight that never lasted long. I work in an office (every other week remotely from home) and live with and care for elderly parents. I've spent a year in Waistaways and did very well the first 8 months, then plateaued and, after…

@jugar so glad you've got an appointment!!

@jugar pw 146 cw 152 :s grrrr, am I surprised, no. Am I really irritated with myself YES! I'll be hitting the RESET button (once I find it...behind my ear? under my pinky toe?) for February. This cannot go on.

New day and my exercise is decided for me by mother nature - a few inches of wet snow out there, must take care of the driveway before someone drives on it (so annoying) and packs it down to turn to ice. I've heard the announcement that Feb 1 over 75 can be vaccinated - now to find out where for mum and dad - will be one…

@jugar Began with mfp in 2014, hit my high at 196 in 2017, but when I picked up again with f2f in Jan '20, was 193. Really interesting to look at that zig zaggy chart for ALL weigh ins since 2014. Having a few crappy eating days in a row. :s Got to pull myself together.

Working from home this week, my eating always start out well but then devolves....NOT this week, feeling good and less stressed now that caregivers not coming in (sounds contradictory as it now falls on me but I am so less stressed Covid 19-wise with this temporary arrangement). Saw a cute thing on the net yesterday; a 6…

That's wonderful news! Take care of yourself and be sure that we'll be thinking of you and waiting to hear how you are doing WHEN you are ready.

Packed a surprise gift box for a friend and her young son in lockdown in Copenhagen - baked choc chip cookies to go in it and had more than my fair share of them, plus pizza, plus WW fudgsicles, cheese - well, the scale this morning certainly brings me back to my senses, from 146 Thurs to 152.5 this morning! But am not too…

@jugar PW 146 CW 146 I'll take it - my eating was terrible for 2 days, I changed all my goals as a result of being irritated with my last week's weigh-in after being really good. I've upped my calorie intake a bit and will see if that does anything (metabolism?). @MandiSaysHey I've been doing the plateau thing since August…

Sunny you are ROCKIN' the habit tracker - good for you!! I'm envious of that solid block of green checked boxes you have.

So I'll admit I was really irritated at my last weigh in - thought all was going well and controlled and to have a gain! - so with that irritation - threw my hands up and didn't log or take too much care over the weekend - ate all my almond cake (shared only a little) and thoroughly enjoyed my Indian takeout (several meals…

Well done on the weigh in and on the running (without walking)....I was feeling proud of myself for doing any running whilst on my walks but then realized I can't even do 10 minutes running - YET. I'll keep pushing. The last 15 minutes of my last big walk, I spent time thinking about 'OH'. This is my only chatroom and I'm…

Hi all! I have a new goal. The new remake of All Things Great and Small is on Masterpiece. Always loved the original series way back and the new one with the glorious countryside is inspiring. I've learned there's a "Herriots way walk" 50 miles spread out over 4 days in the Yorkshire Dales - when travel is easier, and my…

@jugar PW 144.5 CW 146 I don't know what happened. I thought my eating was on point and I'm certainly getting enough steps. My sister advises that I'm not eating enough calories and sent me a link explaining what that means - have stalled my metabolism. I think I need to rethink my goals and my methods. Take some…

Well, this Capricorn is going to test her self control and make a cake. It's really just because I want to make this cake, my birthday is only the excuse. An Almond/Marzipan cake...mmmmm....I'll calculate the calories with MFP and give away most of it.
-
I had to look that up (although I could kind of envision what it was). Yeah, no, will not be happening for me in my lifetime. :D
-
my alternate breakfast is also oatmeal (usually with banana) - quick and easy and filling. Are you still doing the intermittent fasting?
-
Yay, more eggs for me :) Hearty soups. I've got a bean one in the fridge just now - it calculated out a little higher in calories than usual (I'm not good at obeying recipes) and I'm considering thinning it a little with some broth/stock to change the proportions. I'll bet the further you get away from the holiday…

That's definitely a win, Sarah! Welcome to the group. I'm a haphazard poster since last January. Check in, read the comments - you'll glean tips and hints - and post when you can. Is that a cute cat on your shoulder in the pic? :)

hi Debbie, for about 10 yrs I kept chickens, loved it and loved eating eggs, still do, every way shape and form. But even eggs I had to cut back a bit as MFP dropped my daily allotted calories. So most mornings I have one, 'fried' in a pan (I put that in quotes because I'm just quick spritzing the cast iron pan with…

Nope, you haven't missed it - the workweek hustle starts tomorrow morning. :)

@ells_runs hugs to you!

thanks @jugar for the links - I haven't even looked at those before.

So, I gave some of the cake away and ate the rest. I think it was worth it, dee-licious, and will someday make it again. I was able to calculate the calories with the mfp recipe calculator - 535 for a big slice. So to enjoy a half slice with a cup of coffee is not unreasonable (I'd halved the sugar and was plenty sweet…

I've had a couple late postwork eating meltdowns after having ate good all day. I think that's over- resolved some stress issues (temporarily). And I'm determined this week to be an energetic angel. A week from today is my 52nd birthday. Same day last year I declared my goal of losing a pound a week for the year. It didn't…

@debbiewsharpe good for you it's heading in the right direction - that's always inspiring. I had a good weigh in too today and will keep on. I still hadn't quite figured out where my magic number lies, am going to work a little more at it and see if 9-10 more pounds feels right. Got through the holidays pretty well.

sneaking on but must get ready for work...read all your comments...looks like we got through the holidays in pretty good shape! And getting good results from a weigh in is a great motivator to keep eating well, because it works. Protein - Poached chicken is good - I don't eat it hot - I bring it to work as a cold snack…

I have so much reading of posts to catch up on but just wanted to jump on quick before work to say there was an interesting article in the NYT recently regarding 'Exercise snacks' I like the concept and somehow throwing 'snacks' into it was even more appealing. summary - you don't need to throw on the lycra for a dedicated…
