generally i add all my weights as i prepare, then enter whatever proportion in mfp. But i tend to round up on cals.. so if i prepped 186g of carrot, Id give me 100g (96 + some) and hubs the 90 in the log. That way i never under count my intake

im a savoury nut... still struggling to ignore crisps, peanuts etc... never was much for cakes so can walk up sweeets aisle easily. Do occaissionally grate some 90% choc on my puddings now though. Other than than foodstuffs not change that much.. bit of meat, lots of veg... maybe a yoghurt/fruits pudding. Still hit bread…

right or wrong for calorie accuracy, I weigh everything as Im cutting/ prepping.. cant be trying to do it all hot. All pasta, rice, quinoa etc all dry weight... been working for me so unless i'm drastically getting it wrong, I'll carry on with dry/raw

im no expert at all, but have read and been told by my assessor/ trainer that belly fat, in my case, is more likely visceral fat... which is easier to target as its different. Sustained heart rate at a certain level during exercise is supposed to reduce it considerably. As its the most dangerous fat Im obviously worried,…

Im 5'10", a hefty 113kg or 248lbs. MFP have set my calorie intake at 1220.... I pretty much manage that eating a reasonable healthy diet. I am gaining @ 5-600 extra calories from exercise, but very rarely eat them back, although I may dip into them as I like the idea of fluctuating calories to keep the body guessing. Im no…

hey! You can add me too! I still have dont know how many pounds to lose... darent look... but it's still over 6-7 stone... have lost 3 since I first got started, but had a bit of a lapse late last year due to ongoing illness and sheer "what's the point?" Hoping now I'm back on it, and enrolled in a 5k assault course, that…

COUNT ME IN!! It's day 1 of my first week on C25K. I'm hugely overweight, my knees and ankles are completely shot, but I have to do something and a friend has talked me into the Filthy Girl mud run in September. At the moment I struggle to walk, from pain as much as the weight... but I have been fit before and know once I…

Good grief! Isn't is remarkable how you miss one day, and it suddenly is 10??? How does that happen? Being busy and time starved hasn't helped, as with the bank hol in the uk last weekend and son home from school.... That said, because I've been so busy, and spent 3 days moving shop furniture/ stock, I did lose a massive…

Thanks guys/gals, help very much appreciated! This is the problem with changing systems and hammering the research- so much to read, and not all useful/ accurate! I only used leeks as an example, meat, fruit etc could easily apply. From what I was reading, because of the way each company etc measure each calorie value, it…
-
That's how I'm doing it, but my understanding is that eg 60g of leeks, raw, can have a different calorie value once cooked, thereby throwing all our calculations and precise measuring/recording out the window. All very confusing, doing low carb is so much easier

Oops! I missed yesterday... so got lots of posts to read through... Hi and thanks to everyone who welcomed and replied to me ;) Alot of great points and advice. I was VERY flexible as a kid, but it seems that hypermobile kids suffer stiffer than normal joints later in life, oh I so know it! At times theyre almost immobile,…

Good morning ladies! Thankyou for welcoming me into your group.... a little outside contact will help keep me on the ball... too often I'm happy to stay in and just get on with my crafts. I'm an artist/ maker, selling what I create where possible. But must admit, even though it keeps me sane, I've struggled to even enjoy…

Hi Ladies, I see most of you are from all over, so would you mind 1 more from the UK? I'm a little late in the scheme of things but if I don't get started today, I might never get going again. It is my 50th birthday in June, and I was adamant last year that I would get down from 290 to 150lbs, and that I would be able to…

Didnt dare watch it.. knew I'd be fuming. Last January I was 20+ stone... oops, technically obese and in a bad place... still working for myself though, no benefits for me. Sometimes obesity is due to genuine illness, but most of the time, as proven, it's down to slovenly, lazy, badly educated bludgers. There is no…

didnt usually count calories, but on low carb I can get away with any clear spirit as NO carbs (gin, bacardi, tequila, vodka etc) Vod is @100cal per shot so do take it easy more now I count cals too. Apparently though, any unused cals from alcohol will become fat.. and alcohol cals will be used before food cals because…

I'm in Kent... killed 39... 92 to go! Almost able to get back into pump and combat with less stress on my crumbling knees. More I do, the quicker I'll kill it ;)
-
I'm 1lb less than you and got @ 92 to go... but I definately wouldn't try doing 50lbs by new year... nice thought, but I know I'll be setting myself up for disappointment, or scuppering my longterm loss. If you wanna check in daily and aim for sustainable loss until new year just give me a shout... if we're lb for lb it…

Lost 31 since july 1st so 25lbs took @ 3 months. First few months was just low carb, but in october I started doing cardio and workouts 6 days a week, and then added a 1330 cal restriction too. This weeks been a good one ;) despite Halloween temptations. Only another 92lbs to go..... maybe another 12 months...
-
I'm also 5 10, and was 280lbs in January... now down to 248. I did have a long plateau at 256 on 1330 calories, low carb and @ 2hrs workouts 6 days a week. Honestly, I was getting so sick of it I was almost tempted to throw it in, but I joined a halloween challenge with a meal plan... no low carb, just clean food. For this…

I rarely eat back my calories. I'm on 1330 daily, and can earn up to 1000 (on a hard day) on exercise. I try to stay within my general allowance and only use my earnt cals for treats or backup if I undercalculate my cals. Not doing too bad... lost 31lbs since july 1st and building muscle nicely. Do 6 days of cardio, two…

My diary is open... I have a limit of 1300, and some days I have to have a cream pud to get enough cals in... hunger definately not an issue, but boredom and midday snacks can be. I add my gained cals but never go into them.. well, rarely, what ever workouts I do I try to stay in my 1300 limit. Seems to be working…

I lost a fair bit of weight doing Atkins in 2005... and alot of hours in the gym... it is a sustainable regime, nowhere does it say you can't eat any processed crap you buy , just recommends you don't and adjust afterwards. There are hundreds of low carb books that include recipes for cakes, biscuits, icecream etc, if you…

I'm on day 3... it's pretty hard going if you're largely overweight, but there's still alot you can do. I have bad knees and hypermobile joints, but I'm not finding too much pressure on them, it's all in my muscles that I dont have anymore ;0 I did alot of pilates a few years back and it really helped me get in great…

I turned 279lbs in january.. not good. Wanting to get back down to my profile size- @ 145.. no mean feat, that's almost half my weight... but have lost 20lb since july 1st just by changing foods. Have also bought a couple of beachbody programs to help at home- not ready for going back in the gym/classes. Been doing them…
