I exclusively use the app, so that's probably the issue.

I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I've been experiencing the same thing. I missed a period two months ago, had two normal periods, and then just finished a period that came over two weeks early. I hope your doctor can figure out what's wrong!

Great job on your loss! But, I have a question. I'll admit that I've never used "stones" as a measurement, but I do know how to convert units. And it says under your pic that you've lost 47.1 stones. Isn't that like... 660lbs/300kgs??

Just going to chime in here that there's no longer a "sedentary" option. I had thought about changing my activity level a few days ago, and noticed that sedentary has been replaced with "not very active". So to anyone confused about choosing an activity level, I'm guessing those two are interchangeable.

Drink water and eat normally. Your body "detoxes" itself.

You don't have to drink a gallon of water a day, you're probably getting water through other drinks/food/etc. There's no reason to force yourself if you don't want it. Though, you could try some flavour drops like another poster mentioned. I drink around 2 gallons a day because I stay incredibly thirsty all the time. Not…

I don't know your height/weight/etc, but I'm curious, did MFP give you a calorie goal of 1500? I'm asking because it seems like a lot of people put their stats into MFP, it spits them out a calorie goal, and they think it's too high so they change it. And then they wonder why they're hungry and more prone to binge eating.

I'll hold the door while the OP fights the wights.

I've noticed that I usually eat more volume, because most of my friends don't pay attention to calories. They think a small volume means less calories, and tend to order small dishes, such as appetisers, which are much higher in calories than my meat + veggies. One time that sticks out in my mind is when two friends…

If you're at a healthy weight already, then you should look into body recomposition. I'm not an expert in that area, but I'm sure others can chime in with more information on it.

Starvation mode is a myth, and MyFitnessPal doesn't use the TDEE method.

I know you have to write them, but I feel a big difference between writing 500 pages of text and having 200 pages of images/reactions. My advisor doesn't require us to write our dissertation as we go, but I had heard it was a good idea, so I have my first section written based on my first publication. That's what I was…

Someone else necro'd this thread. I'm just here because of the Mass Effect reference.

Please let the 500 page count be counting appendices stuffed full of every reaction schematic, mechanism, structure, computational work, everything. Because this analytical chemist doesn't want any part of a 500 pages of text dissertation.

Chemist here, that's not how that works. Compounds bioaccumulate in our bodies (generally in our fat stores) if they can't be transported by water (such as compounds that are nonpolar/hydrophobic). Nothing present in diet sodas is bioaccumulating in our bodies.

If you only have a few lbs to lose, and your TDEE is 2193, then you can definitely eat 2000kcal/day. Your loss will be slow, but that's really what's best when you're at a healthy weight. Just be sure to be as accurate as possible with logging since you'll have a tiny deficit. I eat over 2000kcal/day and lose, which is why…

The 20g of carbs are net carbs. That's a common number for people following keto to eat.

Best colon-cleansing method known to mankind.

I'm actually planning on being a lot more active this fall/winter, as I won't have to worry about heat exhaustion from taking a walk during my lunch time.
-
I've recently gone for over 3 weeks with no loss, and then dropped nearly 10lbs in a week. If you're sure you're weighing and logging your food accurately, then be patient. Though, you should be betting at least 1500kcal.

Do they know how MFP works? It's made for exercise calories to be eaten back. And, if a person can operate a food scale, there shouldn't be errors in food measurement. Which means they definitely should eat back exercise calories.
-
If you're eating the calories MFP gives you, then eat back at least part of your exercise calories. If you're eating TDEE calories, don't.

I think scale weight matters more when you're bigger. I have over 100lbs still to lose, and things like BMI and body fat % have literally no importance to me right now. But when I start getting close to my arbitrary goal weight, the scale will matter a lot less than how I look/feel. I want to be strong and have some nice…

Walking is the only exercise I do, so yeah I say count it.

Just wash (using purified, non-chemical-based-water) the shake before you drink it. That way you'll be sure to be Eating Clean(TM).
-
That doesn't match up with what MFP calculates, though, as I posted above. I've only taken ~6000 steps today, and I've already got a ~300kcal adjustment (my adjustment's more because I weigh more, but the important part is that it's adjusting me upwards with my level set to Sedentary). MFP's sedentary setting seems to be…

No, no, and no. It's your choice on drinking it or not, but please don't spread misinformation and fear. Everything you drink is made of chemicals, even water. Chemicals are not scary. Your body is full of them.

I have a Fitbit One, I never take it off except to shower. If your Fitbit is linked to MFP, and MFP is giving you those calories for your steps, I'd say to eat them. I eat them, and lose exactly according to plan. Edit: A caveat to this is that you're absolutely accurate with your logging. I weigh everything I eat, and…

I don't think your desk job is the same as everyone's. I have my activity setting as sedentary, and most days I get a lot of calories added back because I'm busy with lab work or teaching and get around 8000 steps without a deliberate walk. But sedentary definitely does not equal bedridden, at least according to MFP and…

I have a Fitbit, and if I don't eat back the calories it gives me from activity, I lose faster than expected and feel ill from under eating. I've found my Fitbit to be completely accurate, after tracking the last four months of data from it, so I tend to eat back everything it gives me unless I'm just not hungry.
