I do 10-12k steps a day and earn betweeen 400-550 extra calories for that. So that makes an enourmous difference to my TDEE, from 1600 to over 2000. I'm a 5'5 woman, current weight just over 140. This was particularly important to me when I was losing 1lb per week - difference between eating 1100 per day (not recommended)…

We have Swinubs absolutely everywhere, they are by far the most common Pokemon around now. I've been playing every day, but only managed to get hold of one special evolution item so far - the one that helped me to evolve a Kingdra. How's everyone else doing with those?

Hi OP, Just to share in the past, before I started counted calories I eat, I'd gain weight EVERY SINGLE TIME I'd step up my exercising. This is because every single time, though I was convinced I was eating less, I was actually eating more. It's only when I started weighing, in grams, every single thing that I ate*, that I…

Banana Republic had a closing down sale here in the U.K. - I'm a UK size 10-12 now, and I thought I'd fit 6-8 in Banana Republic sizes - ended up buying a couple of items in size 4, and one skirt I tried best fit me in size 2!!! (I'm 5'5 and 142 pounds)

I'm 5'5, starting weight was 185, about 42-37-42. Current weight is 142, and I'm down to 39.5-28.5-38.5 or so. Yes, I lost over eight inches off my waist and only two and a half inches off my hips. Unfortunately, that's just the way I'm built. I have big wide hip bones and short legs, and I can't do anything about it. My…

10,000 steps is moderately active, above 12,000 steps is active. I'm sure that above 20,000 steps is very active by any standard. I walk about 11,000 steps a day and I find it easiest to keep my setting at sedentary at MFP, but sync steps from Fitbit and earn extra calories that way.

I have to admit that whenever I see the posts in this forum saying something like "help, I'm eating 1200 calories a day but not losing any weight" I wonder how often it's because people are not calculating things properly, and are confusing recommending serving sizes with whole packets etc. One needs to have decent basic…

Chocolate, salmon, pancetta, salami, extra virgin olive oil and salted butter are my favourite fat sources.

It's been around for longer than that - my mother remembers her aunt (or great aunt?) do an ACV based diet in the 1920s or 1930s...in order to fit into a dress for a ball. Nothing changes.

I caught this little fellow yesterday (London, U.K.) - I didn't even know it existed, I've never seen one before.

I don't count it, but I only use a couple of brief sprays at a time, and a bottle of it lasts me forever (couple of years?).

I just had the following analogy pop into my head. Think of the following analogy - think of losing weight like climbing a mountain. Are you attempting to climb this mountain by walking at a slow to moderate pace up a winding path? Then you have decent chances of succeeding climbing that mountain. Are you actually walking…

Ah - I think the confusion to some of us when reading your thread is that you added up the reduction from all six areas to get to 10. Reading your title, it's easy to interpret it as losing 10 inches from one area, which would be almost impossible. For comparison, it took me over a year to lose 8 inches off my waist.…

I've been losing weight consistently over the last 14 months - from my experience, my weight goes down in one or two big "whooshes" every month. I can go tmore than wo weeks without any loss or with small gains, all while sticking to a deficit. It's perfectly normal.
-
I am not on a low carb diet. I just eat at a calorie deficit, which is great as I can continue eating my favourite foods, and as effectively I never have to go off diet. I eat sushi on a weekly basis at least, in moderation. I love sushi. I eat chocolate daily, in moderation. I love chocolate. I've lost about 19kg in 14…

For reference, I'm set to lose slowly, about 0.5 lbs per week, but I'm enjoying a very decent amount of food - I'm eating 1,800 calories per day, as a moderately active 41 year old, 5'5".
-
Of course I eat them back (about 80%-100% of my Fitbit calories). I walk about 12k steps a day, which is quite active, so I need to eat more than if I was sedentary. Makes sense, and I don't want to undereat, because funnily enough, that's what makes me overeat.
-
Oatmeal and most fruit don't fill me up. Eggs totally fill me up.
-
I absolutely love it, even though it can feel, like someone's punching me in the face as I'm eating it, it's so strong tasting.
-
Hmm - thang sounds a bit too much if it's for raw potatoes - mine are usually in the region of 75-85 calories per 100 raw?

Looks like I killed the Pokemon thread :(

I'd also recommend a slower weight loss. I have similar stats to you - 5'5'' and starting weight of 185 lbs (now at 145 lbs,14 months later). I started with 1lb per week then switched to 0.5 lbs per week after a couple of months. The good thing about slow weight loss is a) it reduces the chance of bingeing or giving up, as…

Rationally: can't stand coriander (cilantro). Yuck. It's a genetic trait - it tastes like rotting washing up liquid. Irationally: I find it difficult to use up milk if there's only one tiny bit left in the bottle, particularly at work. Finding just a dribble of milk in a bottle somehow renders that dribble of milk…

If you lost 6lbs in week 1, you probably gained a bit in week 2 because you are still losing the 6lbs you thought you've already lost. It's near impossible to actually lose that much in a week if you only have 20 lbs to lose.

Wow, that's a proper Pokemon fest where you are! In the early days of Pokemon I witnessed one of those Pokemon hysteria moments in Holland Park here in London - this was back in August, and hundreds if not thousands of people were playing Pokemon when a Blastoise appeared - prompting a massive stampede of people running to…

Are you so well off that you can easily afford it and not worry about it? Then go for it. Are you planning to take out a loan or spend your life savings to do it? Then I think the answer would be there are probably better ways to spend your money.

Hello, Pokemon thread. I'm a 41 year old woman with no children and I'm really not Pokemon target demographics, but I love the game. As I've been losing weight throughout the last year and as my preferred exercise is walking (11000 steps per day on average), Pokemon has been the perfect companion to walking. I live in a…

How did you get to such an incredible amount of stardust, SummerGirl? I always use all of mine to power up straight away.
