OP, talk to a pediatrician. Your daughter's caloric and nutritional needs are significantly different as she's still growing. She likely needs a lot more calories than you and she needs foods with fats. You need to gain an understanding of how much and what she should be eating. Then, model good behavior. Slim does not…

Fascinating! So basically a vaginal insertable that keeps pressure on your urethra? I didn't know this existed but it makes sense. Sounds a little uncomfortable but maybe if you're just using it for an hour while running it's okay. OP, I haven't had the urge when running, but I've heard it's really common so I would just…

"Fork to Mouth" thickens the waist. But seriously, when I started doing more ab exercises then the muscles displaced the fat and my stomach appeared a little more protruded. It didn't thicken my waist though, because inch-wise my waist stayed the same. It was just the shape of my waist that looked different. And it…

If you can eat in moderation then weigh out the food you want into a single serving and eat it slowly. If you can't eat in moderation (one chip will turn into 100 chips plus a pint of ice cream) then get busy with something else. Play a game on your phone. Take a walk. Make yourself a cup of tea and read.

I'd agree - pack all of your food. Make sure to pack a treat as well so you're less tempted to break down and eat something else. (Maybe the treat is a daily thing, or maybe you're allowing yourself to take a piece of chocolate in to be eaten "in case of emergency" once a week.) Make sure to pack low cal snacks in excess…

Jennifer Strange drank too much water. Don't be like her.

I was just thinking about Stuart Smalley! OP, I agree with everyone that you just need to cut.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand smoking and obesity are issues that an individual has the capability of addressing (in contrast to getting cancer, for example). OTOH, smoking is usually an addiction and obesity can be caused by an eating disorder, both of which are conditions that shouldn't be penalized.…

Those bland banana/oatmeal cookies (such a waste of calories), beets (taste like dirt), dark chocolate (too bitter), juices made with only vegetables (I'll eat a salad, TYVM), and gluten-free bread products. I'm really grateful I don't have celiac disease. Many alternative sweeteners, especially stevia, are vile. (But I…

I'm late to this conversation, but here are my thoughts. Nobody should be bullied for any reason. That's just cruel behavior. As someone else mentioned, I also dislike the term "shame" or "shaming". Shame comes from within. Two people who are otherwise identical could be exposed to the same stimulus and one may feel shame…

I try to avoid eating after 8. Just personal preference - if I eat too late then I seem to be more likely to have nightmares.

Most people are focused on themselves. You can always go at a time with fewer people. Listen to music so you can exist in your own little bubble and mostly ignore others. I also like the suggestion to get a trainer to show you the basics of all of the machines so you're at least confident with the equipment. And make sure…

Come on. That is obviously an old picture. Nobody has used that font for at least a decade. I can't believe you're trying to deceive us like that!

I have fine and thin hair. I used to wash it frequently because it got oily so easily. Then my hair stylist recommended I try cutting down so my color would last longer. The first two weeks of only shampooing every other day seemed disastrous because my hair felt perpetually greasy but after that it's been fantastic and I…

I don't care about someone's profile pic. On this site it's one of the least informative parts of someone's profile. I'm much more interested in what they have to say. This isn't Tinder. I don't care what people look like. If I want to stalk someone on the forums for fitness inspiration then I'll check out the success…

I'm saving this recipe. It sounds delicious!

Rinse your hair instead. That will get rid of the majority of the dirt/oil without shampoo. I use shampoo every two to three days. In between I'll rinse when I shower and (depending on how my hair is doing) condition the ends. I use dry shampoo when I feel I need it. Some dry shampoos leave a visible residue on dark hair…

I have hypermobility too. If your PT has gotten you to the point where you're aware of your hypermobility and when your range of motion should stop even if your ligaments don't then Pilates is great. Just shop around for a studio where they really know what they're doing. (I've done Pilates classes at gyms and that is so…

I think everyone can look but it has to be discreet. It's important to me to not date a cretin who makes women uncomfortable by leering at them. I'd hope he thinks the same of me. And if the looking is discreet then chances that the other person will notice are slim.

Isn't this what you tell kids at the museum? I have never heard it in reference to relationships.

I don't care if I see bulges. I did care when an old man's testicles dangled out of his shorts during yoga class.

I would never comment about someone else's weight loss unless they told me they were trying and they kept me updated on their progress. Particularly in a professional setting - it feels inappropriate, as if I was somehow seeing them in a superficial way instead of as a colleague. I would suggest you talk to your coworkers…

Don't get lipo. As everyone else pointed out you aren't going to change your eating habits so you'll likely gain it back, plus you may be left with loose skin. Then there are all of the typical surgical risks. It's not worth it. Slow and steady on MFP is by far your best bet. As for the kids' comments - kids can be mean…

Be careful with the length of your shorts and make sure your apparel fits the activity. I had the misfortune of being in a yoga class with a gentleman who was wearing shorts that were too short and downward dog was not a pretty sight.

^^ Yes. Also, why is it discouraging to hear someone else is insecure about their body? They're not comparing themselves to you! They're not passing judgement on your body. If they're insecure then be a supportive friend to them.

I like your stories.
