I smoke. It sucks. One battle at a time.

Here is my confession: I haven't logged a bit of food for 4 months. I have gained almost 10 lbs in that time. I did keep up the exercise but my eating was super out of control. Several times I ate entire bags of candy on my own. Burgers, fries, pizza, all the stuff I know I should have only rarely, I have been pigging out…

I think I really needed to read this because I totally get what you are saying, here. In fact, I would go so far as to say a light bulb went on over my head. I am going to work on my mind set. So thanks to the op for the post and thanks, also, for this reply. It's amazing how far your wake of influence can spread in a good…

Great affirmations. I'll be using those. Thanks!

So glad you asked about this because I have the same problem.

Well I did my JFT for today! Here is tomorrow's and it is the same as today's. I will drink 8-8oz glasses of water. I will eat 6 fruits and veggies.
-
Just for today I will actually drink enough water. Just for today I will eat 5 fruits and veggies.

Whether you find temporary relief or not, I strongly suggest that you see your doc. ANY changes in bowel habits can be symptoms of a very serious condition. Not trying to scare you. In this situation it is MUCh better to be safe than sorry.

I used to be hungry all the time, too. Then I added just a little more fat to my diet and it solved the problem. No hunger, was still able to maintain a deficit and stil lost a lb a week and have kept it off for almost 2 years, now. Editied to say that when I say "a little" fat, I mean it. We're talking under 5 grams a day,

I am not weighing myself for the month of Novemeber because I was addicted to the scale and someone started a challenge on here. So far I haven't. I am very, very curious but I am not going to peek.

I eat back most of them, if not all. I found I felt really lousy if I didn't. I still lost a pound a week.

Thank you SO much for posting this! I have been doing a combo of light lifting (because doc won't me lift anything over 20 lbs) and walking. I've lost 60 lbs but I am flabby as hell and the weights seem to be REALLY slow going. I think what you are doing may be the way to go for me too. I'd love to have leaner looking body…

I don't know if this will help you but it sure helped me. When I first started trying to lose weight I kept a little notebook. In it, every time I ate, I would write down what I was feeling BEFORE I ate it. Not WHAT I was eating but how I really felt. Was I happy? Angry? Sad? Bored? Or was I truly hungry? I did this for…

I was a working musician, on the road, for more than 30 years. Road food is junk food, pretty much ALL the time. I figured cutting it out completely would be too much of a challenge and it WAS. So, I started by adding 3 fruits and veggies to my diet without cutting out any junk. Then I bumped it up to 6. Then I started…

The fact that the OP hasn't reappeared in this thread tells me something already. Either she has an ED or she is a troll. Either way, ABANDON THREAD!

Congrats on your little one! That's awesome. And I'd like to give you a little inspiration. 2 years ago, when I started this journey, I weighed 206 lbs and had high blood pressure that was described as, "through the roof" by my doc. The put me on meds immediately. So I started walking every day. At first just 10 min then I…

I know the feeling. My SO has many health problems that would be helped so much by taking better care of himself but he doesn't seem to be ready to do anything about it. So I just do my thing. I don't even ask anymore if he wants to go with me because the answer is always the same. I at least got him to stop offering me…

You have had enough people tell you that you need to eat more that I think you've got the picture, by now. Once you get THAT worked out it will be easier, but not easy. I found that after the first 30 days of eating better, logging everything and exercising on an almost daily basis, it became much easier. Like a habit.…

The one with Joe Satriani is about 200. The witch one is 147. My goal is 140 but I may go for 135, depending on how I look naked and how my strength training goes. I am 5'6".

Good job! Dramatic difference! Keep it up!

People I used to see every day didn't notice until I lost about 40 lbs. People I saw less frequently, like months apart, noticed after the 1st 20. I think a lot of it depends on where you carry your weight and how much there is to lose. SW 206 cw 147 gw undecided

I chose a weight smack in the middle of the healthy BMI range for my height and age. Now that I am 7 lbs from that goal I am looking at my belly and am not satisfied. If I get to my goal weight and am still not happy with my belly, I am going on maintainance and will bust my butt lifting weights. After everything I have…

Great thread! I am 7 lbs from goal and SO glad I read it, the whole thing, in one sitting. I took notes. Lots of FANTASTIC advice here. Thanks to all you posters. My take away? You have to do what works for you, whatever that may be. Kind of like losing the weight to begin with. Peace!

What has worked for me, to keep this a lifestyle change instead of just a diet, is to eat what I want but use portion control. I eat a fair amount of "junk" but if you log your calories here you find pretty quickly that you have to be choosy about junk food and eat more healthfully the bulk of the time. I gots to have ma…

Hey, that's a great idea! I am new to my area too and that would proabably fit the bill.

Woohoo! :)

One thing that has helped me a lot is that I tend to be an emotional eater. So I started by writing down what I was feeling before I ate anything. Was I sad? Upset? Hurt? Bored? Or was I actually hungry? It was very revealing and helped me to do a lot less, "mindless" eating. I did that way before I found MFP and I…

This^ I hate to sound like a commercial, but it REALLY comes down to just doing it. When I wake up in the morning and I feel like crap I get up on that treadmill, anyway. Because I know that if I don't I will STILL feel rotten and also will have accomplished NOTHING towards feeling better. This sounds trite but you will…

Yes. Absolutely. You need those calories to fuel your workouts. Dipping below 1200 calories is not safe. If you don't eat back exercise calories at this level and say you burn 300 calories working out, then that takes you below a healthy calorie intake.

This is great! You have a lot of guts...much more than I do. I used to be worried about this....but no more! My stretch marks and loose skin are badges of honor to me. I EARNED them!
